Bump Laura Belle's, 734 N. 19th Street (behind the King Sooper's shopping center) Saturday, Feb. 19, 9 p.m.
Free Detroit rock revivalists Bump will spice up the Springs on Saturday, Feb. 19 at Laura Belle's. The four-man crew is on a mission to bring Motown roots back to the city whose recent claim to fame includes such Motor City abominations as Kid Rock. Apparently the band has chosen the jam-band rich scene of Colorado to spread their word -- Laura Belle's is one of 11 Colorado venues the band is hitting in 13 days.
Guitar riffs long enough to make Neil Young cower, white-boy funkiness, and Dave Matthews-ish vocals will surely attract Phish, Cheese and Garcia lovers to groove on and on until the high is low. Bump has opened for Umphrey's McGee, Mofro, RAQ and a number of other bands you've never heard of. They've even been honored by jambase.com as one of the "Bands to See 2005." Most exciting: the show is free.
