Black Pegasus with The Right Aways, Harrison Bergeron, Leer43, Malakai and The Nicotine Fits The Black Sheep, 2106 E. Platte Ave., 227-7625 Saturday, Dec. 31, 7:30 p.m.Colorado Springs loves New Year's Eve super-shows, where a bunch of bands from different genres throw down. This year's fest at The Black Sheep is no different, featuring six bands from the Springs' all-star lineup. Here's the rundown:
Black Pegasus (pictured) is the local rap superstar, winning a place in the finals at Jay-Z's "Roc the Mic" contest and second place at Scribble Jam. The Right Aways are a beloved, busy and peppy ska band that draws a sizeable crowd of excitable teenagers. Harrison Bergeron reminds you why you liked hardcore before all the middle-schoolers started playing it: technical, tight musicianship and great stage presence. Leer43 plays soft emo pop, suitable for the elevator or Mom's minivan. Malakai brings the longhaired metal, which earned them best regional musical group honors from the Pikes Peak Arts Council. And for the old-school punk lovers, The Nicotine Fits bring the dirt, the attitude and the slop.
Rock into 2006 at The Black Sheep, with a little something for everyone.
