There's something so guilty-pleasure-ish about jam bands as talented as Pale Room. It's probably because it just feels so damn good to listen to such upbeat, meandering music; there must be something wrong with enjoying it so much. Pale Room combines talented and diverse musicianship -- their band includes guitar, bass, drums, keyboard and turntables -- to create a unique sound in their genre. It's quite a feat to carve a niche for yourself in jam. Don't expect a silly, jibber-jabbery vocalist, or one who spins himself around in circles while the band plays away -- Pale Room doesn't have any vocals, and doesn't really have a need for them, either. Through five years of playing and touring, they've perfected the art of groovily jamming along without being annoying or intrusive. They're playing, they're great at it, they're having a good time and they want you to have a good time as well. Cheers to that.
