We gonna catch a fire, catch a fire for God," raps Christian hip-hopster tobyMac (pictured) on his crunktastic single "Catchafire (Whoopsi-Daisy)."
tobyMac originated one of the bigger Christian pop acts in recent years, dc talk, with buddies Michael Tait and Kevin Max Smith. Since their breakup in 1999, tobyMac's been flying solo successfully, garnering a slew of Dove Awards and Grammy nominations. His latest CD, 2004's Welcome to the Diverse City, is an amalgamation of hip-hop, n-metal, dancehall reggae and light rock.
tobyMac appears on the rather grandiose Winter Jam 2006 tour alongside fellow Christian acts like Canadian pop-punk quartet Hawk Nelson, harmony-addled ZOEgirl and trusty Jesus-rock standbys Newsboys. Sixteen-year-old Krystal Meyers will likely rock the house with her hit "Anticonformity," in which she chooses to find her "identity with God rather than society." Super-group Newsong hosts the whole shebang.
This is awesome! Excited about the new music and adventures for his year!
Thanks so much!!!
Hah! Similarly, one, if famous, should not die in December, as all those who passed…
