There are whole books dedicated to the mysteries of women. It's as if females abide by a Da Vinci Code, just waiting to be cracked and analyzed under the male microscope: "Oh, that's why they like "Sex in the City'!"

Meet Colorado Springs' own woman of mystery, the pseudonymed "Rocky," who has been haunting the local music scene for years. Not much can be ascertained about Rocky, also known as the artist P.D. Shaw. According to her dossier, she attended Cheyenne High School back in the day, and has an 11-year-old son.

While Rocky appears as a mother, singer/guitarist and artist in daily life, she also took on the role of call girl in the late-'80s television show "Father Dowling Mysteries," starring the always-fine Tom Bosley.

Crooning in fine establishments such as Jack Quinn's, Benny's and McCabe's Tavern, Rocky plays a variety of originals and covers, often running from big-voiced balladeering (Linda Ronstadt, Dixie Chicks, Ike and Tina Turner's "Proud Mary") to country classics (Patsy Cline, Dolly Parton, Marty Robbins) to the odd turn (Evanescence's "My Immortal").

Robert Langdons of the music world: It's time to study the Renaissance woman known as Rocky.
