Arch Hooks is making "noise" all over town, giving his audiences an erotic and sensual performance and one that's always packaged to be special.

A piano prodigy since the age of 4, Hooks soon accompanied that talent with others by singing and learning to play the guitar, the bass and the drums.

But the piano's still his baby.

His music is pure rock 'n roll, he says, mixed in with some different flavors. The live shows are mostly covers, but Hooks has also released two CDs of original tunes. Chemistry, his third disc, should be out soon.

Still, the live shows are where he thrives. Hooks says he prides himself in being a professional, full-time musician, and he often finds his sets stretching to three hours long with up to 80 songs being performed.

"Music is something that everybody needs," Hooks says. "I mean why [would I] play football and [be forced to] retire now, when I can keep playing piano 'til I'm 75?"

Maybe it has something to do with the fact that you can't wear sunglasses a staple of Hooks' performance get-up on the football field.

"It's not about being cool," he says of the shades. "I just play better in the dark."
