Now that it's two days after Christmas, it's time to get your littlest housemates out of their pajamas and away from anything battery-operated. The Western Museum of Mining and Industry (225 North Gate Blvd., wmmi.org) is here to help, with Cookie Mining events at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. For $4 to $8 per person (kids under 3 free), participants form teams and figure out how to get the most out of their efforts to "mine" chocolate chips from cookies. Eating ensues. To make reservations, call 488-0880 or e-mail rsvp@wmmi.org. — Kirk Woundy
