Restaurant happy hours 

In compiling a happy-hour listing for local bars, we felt it only fair to include a handful of restaurants that offer some pretty killer happy hours, too. We didn't call every restaurant in town, but compiled a quick list of some standouts. We also called our local breweries to find out the best hours to sample their goods on the cheap.

The goods: Early hours: lavender blossoms for $5.50, 30 percent off Belgian beers and carafes of house sangria with an appetizer for $20. Late hours: rotating "crappy beer" with a whiskey shot for $5.50, tea or coffee and a dessert for $5.50, and wine barrel cider for $5.50
