Sanguine Addiction Union Station, 2419 N. Union Blvd., 227-7168 Saturday, Dec. 23, 9 p.m. 21-plus show, $5 cover.
Sometimes you've got to go to a concert knowing full well that it'll leave you with your ears ringing and neck thrown out, and your shirt covered in the sweat of at least 20 strangers.
Colorado Springs' Sanguine Addiction says their shows will leave you, as their Web site (sanguineaddiction.com) says, "Sanguinated." We're guessing it has something to do with the above.
"We bring high energy," says guitarist Jeff Baker. "It's hard rock and metal with a stage presence. But still, it's melodic music."
Sanguine Addiction has been playing for four years, and, according to Baker, really only started to do shows about 2 years ago. But the four members already are in the studio to put together a second album, Self Enemy.
"The first album [Abstract] was more like a demo," Baker says. "This is a whole new recording; it's going to be the real deal."
The band is hoping to have the CD out by late winter or early spring.
They're also working with a local outfit, Chaos Productionz, to put together a full-length DVD.
"It'll have a ton of live show footage, behind-the-scenes stuff and the band just hangin' out," Baker says.
One goal behind this extra media: to show that there are more than just cover bands here in town.
"We're hoping to see a little more exposure for original bands in the Springs," he says.
