Indy: We always wondered why The Lemonheads fell into obscurity so quickly. What happened?
ED: I think there was some amount of self-sabotage at that point [when we fizzled], because it seemed too easy. And I was sort of living the life a little bit too hard back then, when I toured for just about three years straight. That'll drive you around the bend, and you get bored. So now, I'm just enjoying it more. Everything is perfect.
Indy: And you recorded the new self-titled album at Blasting Room Studios in Fort Collins. What was that like?
ED: I never recorded that high above sea level before.
Indy: Well, it sounds like you have your groove back ...
ED: I think I have some of my best stuff ahead of me. And Dinosaur Jr. just finished their new album and the Democrats got control of the Senate ...
Indy: Are you getting political?
ED: We just started to get a little bit [political] because it's gotten so amazingly bad. I'm so happy to hear [Donald] Rumsfeld is gone. It's like Christmas, man. Think about it: At least Hitler said what he was going to do. Bush is all talking about freedom and stuff, and it's just bullshit. Isn't it changing right now? I'm trying to be optimistic.
Indy: It's 1992 all over again.
ED: Yep, yep, yep!
