Adventures for spring 2013 range from learning igloo construction to helping heal injured raptors to experimenting with gears. They're coming up soon, so register ASAP.
Academy of Children's Theatre

Campers age 6 to 13 will develop their acting skills while they prepare theatrical selections at the Academy's week-long day camps from March 25 to 29. Musical Theatre Camp and Acting Camp groups will come together on the last day to present their creations to family and friends.

From March 25 to 28, Bemis will offer five workshops for various age groups from 6 to 17: Art Club; Drawing and Painting; Shadow Box Art; Paint, Paint, Paint; and Anime Art Club.
Camp Whiskers & Wags

Each one-day camp, March 26 to 29, has its own theme: Shelter PALs, Crafts and Critters, Animal Friends and Humane Heroes. There will be games, crafts, and hands-on time with animals large and small for kids in grades 1 to 6.

This science-based frozen adventure from March 25 to 29 is for explorers 11 to 14. Learn the basics of winter survival, igloo construction, snow and ice science and more, and experience nights spent in rustic cabins, snowshoeing and downhill skiing and a soak in Mount Princeton hot springs.

This spring's camp, Animal X-Factor, features a different theme each day — size, speed, tails, jump and reach, and fly and swim. Campers 6 to 9 can attend the whole week or single days, March 25 to 29. There will be indoor and outdoor activities and up-close-and-personal time with the animals. Register online.

El Paso County Parks Nature Camps

El Pueblo History Museum

During the March 25-29 workshop, children 8 to 12 will explore Earth, Wind, Fire and Water. Campers will discuss geology, handle early rock tools, examine mineral samples, build volcanoes, make paper bird kites and Japanese carp wind socks, do water experiments, and make soap-powered boats and giant bubble wands. Kids can participate in any or all sessions, which run from 10 a.m. to noon.

These five-day morning and afternoon camps for ages 8 to 13 begin on March 25 and are strictly hands-on. Campers will explore simple machines and such mechanisms as pulleys, wheels/axles and gears, and will create motor-driven devices.
Nature & Raptor Center of Pueblo

Get your kids out of the classroom and into the wilds with two hands-on day camps: Raptor Camp on March 28 and Birds and Bugs Camp on March 29. Naturalists in grades 3 to 8 will learn about birds of prey and help care for sick, injured and orphaned birds, or learn to identify birds and catch bugs from the river to study. Attend one day or both.
