Are you feeling hopeful or discouraged about starting a new year? I'm very hopeful. I think we're going to see a major shift in our emotional and spiritual consciousness to help us cooperate better with the rest of the world.
Did you make a New Year's resolution last year? Yes, and I kept it. I made a resolution to stay out of jail.
One of the most popular resolutions is to learn something new. What would you like to learn next year? I'd like to learn how to mine gold.
What goal would you like to see City Council set for next year? The best way to deal with the passage of Amendment 64. The legalization of marijuana is both good and bad. I'd like to see it used primarily for medical uses and keep the commercialization out of it.

Did you make any resolutions last year? Yes, I wanted to become a certified yoga instructor, but I got too busy and that didn't happen.
Do you have any goals for this year? Yes, this year I want to focus on overall wellness of body, mind and spirit.
When you set a goal, how do you stay on track? I have to set a routine and be ritualistic about it. A routine is good, and you can always change and expand a routine.
Would you like to learn something new? I'd like to learn more about different religions and cultures. It helps us understand each other better.
What would be a good resolution for the U.S. government? The lawmakers should come down off their pedestals and get back to living where and how real people live. They should see how people struggle so they could help this country more.

Have you ever made a New Year's resolution? Yes, but I didn't keep it. I wanted to lose weight, but that only lasted about a month or so.
Is there something new you'd like to learn next year? How to be a better father. My son starts school next year, so I need to brush up on my homework skills.
Are you hopeful or discouraged when you think about starting a new year? I'm always hopeful when it's time to bring in a new year, and I'm optimistic that we can turn this country around.
So what resolution should the federal government make? Get the fiscal cliff taken care of; I'm a federal employee, and it makes me nervous. And we need to work on unemployment and the national debt.
