Welcome to the 2008 Independent Summer Guide. Here begins a full array of the biggest whos, whats, wheres and whens of the next four months.
That, of course, leaves just the whys. Why go to a sheep-shearing festival? Or watch a tomahawk-throwing competition? Or race up Pikes Peak?
