In Colorado Springs, good weather year-round means that you've always got recreational selections to choose from. And come summer, your options blossom into a regular cornucopia of activity. Will you go hiking, or feed crackers to the giraffes at the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo? Raft some whitewater, or watch the kiddies hoot 'n holler around the Uncle Wilbur fountain?

Still, we know that inevitably, everyone manages to slip into the "but there's nothing to do" doldrums. In this year's Independent Summer Guide, we provide helpful information to get you through 'em. Page through our summer calendar, which includes plenty of festivals, concerts and general hullabaloo. Also, check out articles about our Daytripper guru's favorite places to visit, tasty foods to make on the Fourth, a guy who messes with bulls for a living, and more.

Enjoy, and have a great summer!
