It has been two years since the 9/11 terrorist attacks and the world has changed a lot. We've got an entirely new federal agency, the Office of Homeland Security; we've got the PATRIOT Act; Afghanistan seems like a distant memory; and we're spending $1 billion a week on our war with Iraq.

Downtown What do you think about the president's request for an additional $87 billion for Iraq? It depends on your political view. It's probably a good plan. There needs to be some restoration there.
What has the Office of Homeland Security done of note? I have really appreciated the heightened security efforts in the airports. It has made me feel safer while traveling.
Where were you when the planes hit the World Trade Center? I was actually in medical school at that time and I was listening to the radio.

What do you think about the president's $87 billion request? We go from the 9/11 World Trade Center attacks to getting bin Laden, we never got him, now we go to Iraq and fight a war. We're not "at war" any more but we're getting more people killed than when we were at war. It's totally bummed out, wanting that kind of money and never finishing a job.
What has the Office of Homeland Security done of note? More security at airports is great but I still believe that we haven't conquered the problem. We keep getting ourselves involved in other countries and you can't trade a country's belief and make them adopt our beliefs.

What do you think about the president's $87 billion request? We think we're this superpower; we think we're untouchable in the war on terrorism. People who don't want us over there aren't going to appreciate it 10 years down the road. We need to stop playing "world police"; we've got enough problems right here in America.
Has the war made the world safe from terrorism? Now that we are going after these people we are just making more enemies. You can't protect everything and be everywhere at every time and place. Let's limit our liability and cut our losses and stop fighting these silly wars.

What do you think about the president's $87 billion request? I don't think he's heading down the right road. We're getting no cooperation, the whole world is mad at us and its, like, where's he going with this?
Where were you when the planes hit the World Trade Center? I was working for a telecommunications company. One of our clients was in the World Trade Center, they were on a conference call at the time, and we heard a scream, a bang and then dead air. We got firsthand knowledge of that.
