What's the big movie for you this summer? Lady in the Water by M. Night Shyamalan. It'll be out the third week in July.
What's the best summertime activity? Drinking beer and hanging out. Also, we live in a really old house, so we get into home projects in summer.
Do you have a favorite summer meal? Steaks, burgers, anything you can grill. Also puttanesca, a pasta dish that means "of the harlot." It's a very aromatic dish with capers, Greek olives, garlic. The story goes that women in the red-light district would entice men off the street by cooking it.
Do you have a favorite summer drink? Cold beer. My current favorite is a New Belgium beer called 1554.
What's a local summertime activity that few people know about? Hard to say; you're talking to a workaholic. The Manitou Art Theater puts on first-class children's shows the first Saturday of every month.

Which movie do you want to see this summer? I want to see Cars; I like animation. Also, The Da Vinci Code. I read the book a while back, and I'm interested to see how they did the movie.
Are you following the World Cup? I watched part of the U.S.-Italy match at Old Chicago last Saturday, but I'm not a big fan.
What's your favorite summer meal? Anything you can cook outside, or eating out.
Do you have a favorite summer beverage? Cold beer. I keep a keg in my house, and I make my own beer.
Name a fun, but little-known, summer activity around here. The Paint Mines, out near Calhan, is kind of cool.

Are you following the World Cup? I try, but it's a little boring. I was kind of following the U.S. team, but they didn't last long. Then I kind of rooted for England, but they committed a couple fouls I didn't appreciate. Plus, they lay back too much. I like the teams that go after it and score more often than once every three hours.
What's your favorite summer pastime? Just being alive in Manitou. It's different every day. The height of pleasure is being out painting in Manitou.
What's your favorite summer meal? Right now, it's chicken salad.
Do you have a favorite summer drink? Lemonade made with Manitou mineral water is outstanding.
What's a great local activity few people know about? Music in the parks. There's a concert in Soda Springs Park every Monday night, and on other nights at other parks in Colorado Springs.
