This Saturday, Aug. 23, Trinidad plays host to one of the state's premier blues festivals, the fifth annual Trinidaddio Blues Fest. An amazing national lineup that includes lots of regional talent will be wailin' in Trinidad's Central Park starting at noon. Local Jaquie Gipson will warm up the stage at noon followed by the Clay Seltz band from Gardner. Colorado Springs' Metro Blues will go on next followed by Denver's Tempa and the Tantrums. Around 3 p.m., it starts to get big-time with the Craig Horton band from the San Francisco Bay area, the Albuquerque Blues Connection at 4:20 p.m., Tad (Tbags) Robinson and Alex (Guitar Czar) Schultz at 5:30, Michael Coleman and the Backbreakers from Chicago at 6:40 p.m. and Jimmy Thackery and the Drivers from Eureka Springs, Ark. at 7:50. Headlining the festival at 9 p.m. will be the one and only Coco Montoya from Los Angeles. Chickity check it.
