For the past 17 years, people all over the world have held a candlelight memorial service to honor the victims of the epidemic of our age, AIDS. This year is no exception, as public education is still not strong enough to stop the spread of this deadly disease. The Southern Colorado AIDS Project and the Pikes Peak Gay and Lesbian Community Center have organized the Colorado Springs memorial this year, and you can be sure JC will be there, honoring the dead, celebrating their lives and praying for a cure. The event begins at 7 p.m. at All Souls Unitarian Church, 730 N. Tejon St. Admission is free, and a reception will follow the candlelighting. Call 578-9092 or 471-4429 to find out more.
