Lil’ Bit and the Customatics
Jose Muldoon’s, 222 Tejon St
Friday, April 8 • 9 p.m.

Jen "Lil' Bit" Adams is a deceptive lil' gal. Before she and her band, the Customatics, started up a recent set at Tony's, Adams was seen perched on a barstool playing video trivia. When the time for rockin' drew nigh, she nonchalantly hopped off her seat, took off her coat and commenced to completely wow listeners. Backed by her talented band (including Tomcat Miller on upright bass, Brian Duarte on guitar, and Dave Crisci on drums), Lil' Bit belted out true-blue rockabilly and honky-tonk tunes in a clear voice that would do Patsy Cline proud. That the group hails from Texas will be enough to draw some folks in for the show, but it's their classic 1950s-era sound that will make audiences want to jump up and get boogying. Or, perhaps, weep into their beer. It's that kind of music.
