I agree, even with the new ownership and remodeling, it all looked and tasted worse. No wonder why they closed it down.
Was dying to try this place. Finally did today and it was terrible. I'm not sure if it's normally this bad, but there was only one employee who was clearly high as shit. Took him over 15 minutes to make one drink. Didn't wash his hands before or wear gloves and touched all of the fruit and vegetables. Didn't wash hands after either and handed me my drink covered in gunk. Friendly guy but too friendly and made me feel uncomfortable. Was more interested in chatting than making a good drink. I had just finished the incline and was on my way home and just wanted to get in and out, not spend 20 minutes talking to some weirdo. I believe his name started with a K, could be wrong but he works at devil's pizza too. If the owner is reading this, please get rid of that guy. I am never going back solely because of my experience with that employee. And the drink I got "Garden of the Gods" went straight to the trash because of the lack of cleanliness on his part. Definitely a waste of $7.
Tong-Tong is my go-to Korean restaurant in Colorado Springs. The service has always been outstanding, with attentive, friendly servers that go out of their way to make you feel at home. They have always been ready with a smile and a suggestion of what I should try next. The food is likewise outstanding, with the wide assortment of soups being particularly good.
Everything from standards like bulgogi (thin sliced marinated beef) and japchae (a sweet potato noodle dish) to more unusual dishes like sundubu-jjigae (a spicy soft tofu soup) are served sizzling in their dishes and incredibly good. Unless you ask for it spicy, the level of hotness is under control, so this non-Korean can enjoy it without sweating the whole time.
I would suggest trying it at lunchtime, as their lunch menu has most of the standards at substantially reduced prices (around $6.99 for most). Even at lunch, you receive a wide assortment of traditional side dishes with your entre. The staff will gladly refill any of them if you ask for more.
The only knock on this place (and the only reason I didn't give it five stars) is that it could use a good remodel. The carpeting is worn in many places, the booths and tables have seen better days, and the restrooms, though clean, need some maintenance work.
Still, that shouldn't deter you from trying this place. Before you know it, you'll be a regular like me.

Quaint "old victorian" shop with great people and a great vibe. Used to be Firehouse BBQ, located in a renovated turn of the century fire station on Colorado Blvd. just off of 8th street. Conveniently located just outside of downtown Colorado Springs; 2 blocks or so from I-25 just west of 8th Street.
Feels a lot like a neighborhood hang-out. Great place to watch the game, read a book, have a conversation, or just take some down time.
Jeff and Caryn Andrews are the owners and are usually there meeting people and making them feel like family. I highly recommend this place as a "must visit" for locals and guests.
Front Range is sadly underrated for their wonderful marriage of very very good food and quality music. No words can describe their delectable meals. And whoever books their bands really know what they're doing because we've seen some great acts come through here, most of them traveling from afar. Not sure why they advertise it as "southern rock" because musicians have come from Philly, Boston, etc., and have a wise variety of soulful sounds. If you want excellent food from a restaurant that has great taste in music, this is the place to be.
Lived in the Springs for 30 years, but moved to Albuquerque about 10 years ago- was back to visit friends/family and started missing my chile fix, so thought I would visit what was one of my favorite 'mexican' restaurants. Kinda surprised at the change-over to this new place but 'what the heck, might as try it as long as i was there'. Loved the ambience and the wait staff was great. The food - not so much. Thought it was overpriced and so-so. Maybe I have gotten spoiled eating some really great southwestern/new mexican food in 'el Burque'.
As a former Palmer student and frequent down-towner, there is nothing bad about KC that isn't wrong with any other downtown breakfast place. My potatoes have never been burnt, and I have never heard the staff curse. I've been earing here for three years. It is a DINER, so the food is bound to be greasy, but nothing compared to a place like Taco Star, for instance. I've had everything on the menu. All the bad reviews must be from some really sophisticated eaters, because to a normal person who doesn't get fresh herbs for her food everynight, this place is good.
Very nicely surprised for a town that has many mediocre Mexican food choices. Locally owned, which is important for those who wish to patronize the mom and pop cafés, while avoiding the big box franchises. Great ambiance, nice wait staff, food exceeded our expectations. Will be back, and will tell our friends to try it out as well.
Great breakfast as well as one of the best burgers in town. The green chili is superb. A great local diner on the West side of town. Have been there numerous times, never been disappointed. Eager to try their BBQ.
Never will go back to Bambinos since the owners did not renew the lease on La Creperie, one of downtowns oldest remaining quality eateries. Will not patronize their hamburger joint effort, The Skirted Hiefer. Nothing like adding one more burger joint to an already saturated burger market in this town, but hey, good luck on your half thought out business plan. The pizzas and "Italian" food at Bambinos were always mediocre at best, much, much better choices in the town. Arrivederci!
The Carey On is my favorite country bar! They have a great dance floor, fantastic music, and the staff is friendly and fun. I often go by myself, and I always feel safe and have a great time. I love seeing the owner LeShawn and DJ Johnny Law wandering through the crowd making everyone feel welcome. I love this place!
Real easy rule to know if you should write "(BLANK) and I" or "(BLANK) and me": Think about how you would write or say it if it was just you -- if you would use "I", then use "(BLANK) and I" and if you would use "me", use "(BLANK) and me".
For example: I went to the mall = Joe and I went to the mall.
Another example: The water splashed on me = The water splashed on Joe and me.
When using "(BLANK) and I", the I always comes last. When using "(BLANK) and me" there is a little more flexibility regarding which comes first.
As the subject of a sentence, it would be "Egg and I" (as in, "the Egg and I went to dinner); if an object or following a preposition, it would be "Egg and me" (respectively, "You took the Egg and me to dinner" and "Give dinner to the Egg and me"). As the name of a restaurant, presumably the subject mode would be preferable (as in "The Egg and I gave our name to this restaurant" or "The name of this restaurant is The Egg and I"). Okay, well, you asked!

Just tried this restaurant for the first time. Great food, good prices, and exceptional customer service. We will definitely be repeat customers.
We arrived just before 6 am on Friday; there appeared to be just a single employee, who not only opened the door ten minutes late, she proceeded to seat just the first group of diners before disappearing into the back. No eye contact, no "I'll be right with you," nothing but silent contempt. Since she made it clear, on behalf of her business, that iHop cares nothing for our business, we left and won't ever go back.
We tried Jun several times. The food was OK, not great, and the service was horrific. Go to Ai, just down the road. Better food, nice people.
Beer is good but service usually really sucks. I avoid the overpriced food and the owner. I do like the diverse guest tap offerings but they too are overpriced. Have a couple cold Flos and go down the road to more friendly people.
This place is unclean, the food undercooked, the preparation uneven (meaning the ingredients are not appropriately spread around the crust...the sauce is simply ketchup from a squirt bottle, and the help has never held a job before and will probably turn over before the week is out.
