Re: “Papa John's

Love their pizza but BEWARE, their location on North Academy has closed, it still takes phone calls but they are redirected to their Powers location, which THEY DO NOT TELL YOU, and you end up DRIVING AN HOUR to get the pizza. Will never be their customer again!

Re: “Springs Orleans

It is simply other worldly...and now with the connecting hotel, it is as easy going downtown to leave town. And at Colo Springs rates, not New York's!

Re: “Thunder & Buttons II

Decided to stop and try the food here when we noticed the specials board while strolling through Old Colorado City - VERY glad we did! They had a lot more than just burgers and bar food. We had the Lettice Wraps as an appetizer and tried a couple of the daily specials - I had Chicken Marsala and the wife had the Sloppy Buffalo. Everything tasted great. Relaxed, friendly atmosphere with very good service. Loved the vintage NFL helmets around the bar - will definitely be back for football season also!!

Re: “Rasta King Seafood Bar and Grill

One of the worst bars or restaurants in Colorado Springs hands down. It's like The Golden Cue (in terms of potential violence of death) except 10 times (which makes for a harder time escaping) smaller with way less people (meaning you'll most likely see your killer coming.)

How do I dislike thee, let me count the ways. The loud colors, the interior and exterior doesn't look bad, but the music was weak, there wasn't a bartender behind the bar, they were playing pool about 10 ft away- had to wait for them to get my order in. I thought this place was owned by authentic Jamaican owner(s) but judging from the music, not! Is it roomy, heck no. I've seen bedrooms bigger than this place. There's a dart board, a pool table, and about 10 tables and chairs. That's it, you've just seen the entire place. Not even going to get into the food. Let's just say I've had far better food from the taco truck on airport rd in the evenings.

Re: “Stagecoach Inn

Where to start, the building itself was beautiful: then there was the food, which was ,at best, as good as the food you could get in the trash at Denny's. It was over priced as well. All the products used in each dish were either frozen or canned. If they have a chef he is at best incompetent. The management was not accommodating and rude. Furthermore if you are going nickle and dime the customers your food should at least be eatable. Never have i had my kids, at a restaurant, attempt to eat kraft mac and cheese and pre-frozen french fries for $6.00. Not one entree came with a salad, soup, or bread and they charged $10 for sharing a rack of ribs. The steaks were over seasoned and over priced for the amount of food and their vegetables tasted like dishwater and were stringy. Not only will I never ever go back there but I will tell everyone of my experience in the the hopes that I can prevent them from an over priced disappointment. I wish that I knew the aaa reviewer that gave them the 1 diamond rating so I could suggest he might take it back. Written most sincerely by a very disappointed local chef with plenty experience in the food and beverage industry.

Re: “Nawlins BarBQ and Seafood

Just another lame (and futile) attempt in Colorado at mixing several Louisiana culinary cultures that seem completely misunderstood outside of the New Orleans metro area, in Acadiana centered around Lafayette, or in North Louisiana above Alexandria. Whenever you read of a Colorado restaurant specializing in "New Orleans Cajun Cuisine," you do not have to even leave home, much less waste money on a meal that will be unsatisfactory. This is because some ignorant (or fraudulent) proprietor is attempting to mix two or more completely unrelated culinary cultures that seldom come together, even in Louisiana. The difference is that New Orleans cuisine is not Cajun, and is instead more French, Creole, or even Italian in nature. Some of the crap found at "Nawlins," (a stupid phonetic way that local Louisianaians pronounce New Orleans) would never be found in any Orleans or Jefferson Parish restaurant. Conversely, such New Orleans specialties as the Muffuletta (Italian), beignets, and some forms of rice beans and rice would be rare or nonexistent in Acadiana, which is Cajun Country in Southwest Louisiana west of the Mississippi River and mostly south of Opelousas. Other "Cajun specialities" offered at "Nawlins" are nether Cajun nor Creole; rather, they are derived from the Black soul food tradition, which is indigenious to North Louisiana and other Southern states.

It completely baffles me why local proprietors do not adhere to three basic rules: select one Louisiana culinary culture, keep the menu short and simple, and be absolutely obsessive about authentic preparation and flavor as it is produced in Louisiana.

As it now stands, Nawlins will never survive the Colorado Springs "five year rule;" namely, the place will be out of business in 60 months or less.

Re: “Mirch Masala

Simply the best Indian food I've ever eaten. The tiki masala chicken is so incredible I've actually had dreams about it. The kheer pudding and the mango dessert are some of th bed flavors I've enjoyed. The format of the buffet is very pragmatic. Go at lunch, that's the best deal. Marvelous experience

Re: “Jasmine Cafe Chinese Restaurant

Very good and affordable. I've had the sweet/sour chicken, schezschuan, lemon chicken, orange chicken, all the soups, the lo mein, and most of the variety items on the menu. Never had a bad xperience. I highly recommend this place.

Re: “Nawlins BarBQ and Seafood

We stopped in this afternoon. The prices were more than fair as anyone who has ever eaten cajun cooking in the southeast would know. Most sandwiches and po'boys were $8.99 and you could choose whichever side you wanted to go with them. The food was delicious, arrived quickly, and the service was excellent. The waitress placed silverware wrapped in cloth napkins on the table when she seated us. Drinks were on the table within three minutes and the waitress quickly returned with a basket with a half dozen bottles of condiments. Our food was out in less than 10 minutes. The portions were large and were served on heavy earthenware dishes.

Re: “Borriello Brothers - Barnes

I agree w/ the above ratings, The Barnes location recently re-opened due to a kitchen fire, and since then, the pizza bites. I once loved them especially when I requested they over cook it by 5 mins, making the outside crust dark and crispy, but Yuck to them now. They should have tried to save the seasoned oven, the new one does nothing for the taste. JMHO.

Re: “La Creperie Bistro

Used to be but now isn't...customers are merely an aggravation to the employees, they could care less about the food theynserve you, and are just basically rude and careless... You have to beg to be waited on, remind them your order is up, and go back to get your own water and bread refills.

Re: “Sacred Grounds Café

I absolutely LOVE this place. The owners are very open, loving and caring. We hold our meditations upstairs and we rent the place to have a Metaphysical Meet and Greet. I bring my 3 year old autistic nephew and they are very accommodating for him. A wonderful atmosphere, a peaceful outside table, and great food and drinks.

Re: “Borriello Brothers - Barnes

If I could possibly rate them lower, believe me, I would. You know, for New York style pizza, they used to be alright. They also used to have tolerable prices. But, I made the mistake of listening to my loving wife and ordered 2 pizzas from them last night. A cheese and their Chicken Hot Wing pizza. Just the Chicken one was $20 alone!!!!! And believe me when I say that it wasn't worth it... It was thinner than paper. Barely any toppings and the crust was so dense that I had to take a break because my jaw was tired. It was ridiculous. They charge $14 for just a cheese pizza!!!!! Come on!!!!!! Then to top it off, gouge me with a $2.50 for delivery? Man..... I wish I could roll back time and make a better decision.
DO NOT ORDER HERE!!!! Go with Blackjack Pizza. They have changed so dramatically that I am amazed. Great flavor, super prices, and I always have plenty of leftovers. We had none with Borriello's paper thin pizza.

I love the sloppers! Definitely worth the drive from Colorado Springs. The staff makes you feel like a local. Fun, fun, fun.
