Re: “The Omelette Parlor

It is as dirty and greasy a place as I have ever seen...and the food has been sitting out for hours before it is served, tough, cold, congealed...nasty

Re: “The Omelette Parlor

I won't go back until the place is cleaned. It is filthy with a layer of dust that's been accumulating for years. I wish the Health Dept would check it out.

Re: “The Airplane Restaurant

This is not the place to go unless you are a FedEx pilot without a car to go somewhere good to eat...you never hear a local even mention this historically bad place to eat.

Re: “The Airplane Restaurant

I wasn't keen on leaving a comment until I saw the negative ones which QUITE surprised me. Since I have tried so much on the menu I feel compelled to take a moment of my time to share my experiences. I find the food over all quite lovely and take coworkers all the time. Neither the drinks or the food are too pricey at all which makes it nice for lunch, dinner or just drinks after work. Not a lot on that area of town that I want to frequent so thank goodness for this restaurant/bar being here because there are many of us DoD contractors in the area... The wait staff is fine but just like any other place I have had the great and attentive serve us and the aloof bimbo paying all her attention to the military groups or single young men.... Nothing that would make me stay away though. The ambiance is priceless... always shocked it is not packed.... but again who wants to hang out after hours in this less than desirable area when you can go elsewhere in town? I will keep going back... and keep taking coworkers, friends and family. I KNOW it would be horrible to see it ever close... that is for sure.

Re: “Freddy's Frozen Custard & Steakburgers

If you didn't enjoy the food maybe you should not of gone back 3 times? My family and I have eaten there multiple times and the food has always been just what we expected and more. The service at Freddy's is on par and they are always quick to meet our needs. I'm sorry you have such an awful opinion about Freddy's hopefully it made you feel better to bash them on here.

Re: “Freddy's Frozen Custard & Steakburgers

Sounds yummy to me...the one near Baptist road is really good. Maybe they just don;t have the deep fryer turned up high enough at the Powers store.

Re: “Freddy's Frozen Custard & Steakburgers

Hands down, the crappiest chain restaurant on the Powers corridor. The Chicago dog is NOT a chicago dog. The fries suck. The burgers are visually similar to a Steak and Shake...however, these are NOT good. I actually like Steak and Shake and I legitimately wanted to like this place. This place is the overpriced crap food at at amusement parks and resort's. It just blows me away that people on the east side of town will fill a horrible restaurant on a Monday night with the absolute worst food in town. Hell, the plain hot dog is probably the worst hot dog I've ever had. The fries are also the most tasetless fries I've ever had. From my THREE visits...I'm thinking this may be the worst restaurant I've ever visited. But hey, it's hard to find a parking space....so maybe I'm just some hipster trying to look cool at Fredddy's. Not even a star from me.

Re: “IHOP

If you ever visit the I-Hop on North Academy, besure you ask to sit in Bobby's section. He has such a great outlook. If you can't make up your mind he'll do a good job recommending what to eat. He is very prompt and curtious, what else can you ask from a server. Awesome customer service! When I go back I will sit in his section!

Re: “King's Chef Diner - Bijou

Heard good things about King's Chef and decided to pay a visit the other night. Had a burrito that was insanely bad. Overcooked eggs, burnt potatoes and spongy oily meat. It was truly fucking disgusting. 2 bites was all I could take. I told the waitress how bad it was and she "well, that's too fucking bad, huh?" Really? This is how staff speaks to customers?? This place truly does suck. It sucks in the worst way and I will never be back. Definitely NOT RECOMMENDED.

Re: “Egg & I

For the money, probably the best sit-down breakfast place over here on the East side. Only open for breakfast and lunch, though. The Cimarron Hills neighborhood definitely doesn't have a better breakfast place in the area!

Interestingly enough, these chains seemed to exist in AZ as "The Good Egg" - the restaurants were almost identical. So, if you're ever eaten at "The Good Egg" chain, it's basically the same thing.

Expect standard breakfast food, prepared well - omelets, eggs, bacon; corned-beef hash - that type of thing. Decent (if weak) coffee. I see a wide range of people here from families with hordes of small children to seniors enjoying the chance to sip coffee and read the newspaper. The wait staff is very friendly and seem to go out of their way to accommodate everyone; going the extra mile to bring crying children crayons and coloring sheets, etc.

Nice little place!

Re: “King's Chef Diner - Bijou

I couldn't agree more with the negative reviews, almost as much as I disagree with the reviewers who gave this place a positive review! I question the process that awarded this place a "Best Of" considering how awful the food was on both occasions I ate there. Here's some advice for the owner: spend less time trying to make this place trendy, and more time cleaning the tables, restrooms, and servers. One would think with all the money saved on atmosphere that the prices would be better, but apparently everyone in the Springs has the fiscal sense of a trust-fund baby, if this place flies as a Best Of anything. Concerning the award from the Indy? Your publication has lost all credibility with its choice for Best Of...

Re: “The Omelette Parlor

I wholeheartedly agree with the last poster. I think the food and oj is top notch. The manager could make an better attempt at quieting down the kitchen and wait staff when seating folks around that semi-open kitchen. The biggest problem I have is that this place needs a remodel or deep cleaning. They get a ton of people each day, so money shouldn't be an issue. The place is dusty, paint peeling, outdated/uncomfortable seating. This persona makes some people think what the kitchen must look like, if the seating area is this much in despair! Shut it down for a couple days and get the place in order!!!

Re: “The Omelette Parlor

This place is totally over rated. The service and food are below average. I too have given this place several chances over the years and it never gets better. I am baffled how they win Indy awards so often. Go to Western Omlette if you want a treat.

Re: “The Omelette Parlor

I have given this place three tries and there will not be a fourth. I don't know where this other person got such good foof and service. We were hoping for BETTER FOOD (ordered the same thing that I would order at other places, but here no taste), better SERVICE (we didn't have fast service at all not to mention the waitress didn't even care about what we really thought about the food), and better CUSTOMER CARE (it would of been nice if when we said we didn't like the food that they would say more then sorry to here that and not even offer some sort of refund or please try us again and give us a try with a discount (not that we'd use it). The thing that really was bad was they wouldn't even take our coupon for them, because they said it was a holiday and they don't take the coupons on a holiday (I understand that BUT the coupon DID NOT SAY ANYTHING ABOUT NOT TAKING IT ON HOLIDAYS) When we checked out THAT'S when she SHOWED us the thing about not taking coupon on holidays. Sorry on both us and them, I don't like to tell someone that's a bad place to eat, but I'm just telling it like it was for us. If you give them THE BEST PLACE TO EAT AWARD FOR 2011, then that will just tell us your rating is a bit off. Thanks for letting me tell you about our dinning experience.
