I ate at the Famous last week...and finally have my strength back enough from being sick to say it was the absolute worst meal I have ever eaten out. What in the meal made me sick...I don't know, but it was all tough, tasteless, cold, and just bad.
The meat was the worst part...try the Texas Road House if you want a juicy, hot, nicely charred steak. The Famous sucks.
Actually, I recently ate at the Famous...and it just as bad as the Bistro. Really awful...one of the worst meals I have ever eaten out...not a thing was even up to mediocre.
Colorado Springs downtown owes it financial success to competing with MRE's the military eats in the field...so all this crap they serve downtown at these places is good compared to that for the military guys just back from hell...but it is hell for the rest of us.
My wife and I felt so strongly after last nights meal at this restaurant that we were swindled out of $120.00 I thought I should write a fair review of Couture's to warn others so they wont have the same poor experience by making the mistake of eating dinner at this establishment.
The decor of the restaurant is pretty good, the owner has taken what was a dry cleaners and put a considerable amount of $$ into the remodel resulting in a pleasant atmosphere in a cozy "French" restaurant. Wines are sold by the glass, the wine was the good part of the meal. My wife ordered a glass of Cabernet and I had a light white wine, both were very good. The waitress suggested we try the mussels with a white wine, garlic sauce and french fries on top. I took the bait and ordered....I have had better quality mussels frozen from Safeway. In fact I suspect these were frozen from a supermarket. Small, little meat inside, McDonalds serves better french fries. My wife oredered a "garden fresh" salad I ordered a Cesar. The Garden fresh again seemed like it came out of a bag from a grocery store....lettuce was slightly wilted and the special dressing had little flavor. Keep in mind so far we've racked up over $40.00 for our wine, crappy mussels and salad. My Cesar salad was OK....Cesar is supposed to be made with large romaine lettuce leaves, this was small pieces of standard lettuce head with a 1/2 boiled egg on top and mediocre Cesar dressing. Want a good Cesar - go to the Famous! Finally our main course, I mistakenly ordered the pork loin - $24.00 my wife ordered the "Filet Mignon" - $36.00. They offer risoto as a 3 course for $10.00 per plate, fortunately we didn't waste our money on the risotto, I saw it plated at other tables and it did not look appetizing. My pork loin had some type of cream sauce with it I suppose to try and mask the fact that it was tough and unfavorable. A poor cut of meat....I can make a far better pork loin at home. My wife's filet I don't believe was an actual Filet cut of meat...it could have been was sirloin. It was cut into two halves circles of beef, each about 1/2 inch thick. I suspect it was cut this way to mask the fact it was not filet mignon. It was mediocre at best. For $36.00 we could have had a decent steak at the famous down the street. Final check was $120.00 .......what a rip off. Take my advice, - BEWARE of this place, they serve poor quality food.

They get 5 stars for their crispy chile rellenos. Outstanding compared to other places & order yours smothered in green chili!
A really neat place, worth the visit. Plenty of free street parking. Excellent food and coffee, low key, quiet, friendly. A hidden gem in the old north end.
Been there several times now, never had a bad meal. Love the decor. The Kobe Sliders (2 per order) with a mound of wonderful french fries are amazing and a meal for smaller appetites. Our service has always been excellent too. Nice that it's only 2 doors from Kimballs movie house, a great date night experience.

Great cup of - Carmel Macchiato w/ extra foam was the best. I asked for Extra foam & I got what I wanted! Yum! (add to that the Cheese Danish .....)
We ate there and the food was fresh cooked and well prepared. I hear a lot bad reviews now its sad because when he started there we where exited to see somebody still cooks with heart and love.
Bad acoustics, over priced drinks, ugly waitresses. Door people over charge and pocket the money and the manager acts like he doesn't know what's going on.
The show was a smash hit!!! It was literally standing room only!!! The dancers performed really well, featuring a vast selection of dance genres! It is an event not to be missed!!!
My first visit to one of Maggie's location. I'm really "STOKED" that I have an avenue to leave my "feedback" about the shop, the staff, and my experience. Overall...I'm EXTREMELY impressed. I'm closing in on 60 years old, an old hippie who grew up in Hawaii. "Organic" has been my creed for as long as I can remember, and that is what drew me to Maggie's Farm. Very impressive selection....extremely friendly and knowledgable staff. Good prices to boot. Just take pleasure in knowing you are providing for your needs "organic" products. This will be my one-stop-shopping from here on out!!
Tried to shop at Marisol Theraputics on Jan 1, 2014 (the BIG day) and have never encountered a worse company. Utterly incompetent and callous to their customers, both medical marijuana users and recreational users. I'm never going back. And when they go out of business it'll be a public service.
Got there at 12:50 pm on January 1, the first day retail pot was legal in Colorado. Marisol got their license to sell recreational pot well in advance so they should have been ready for the influx of customers. I got in an outdoor line I estimate to be about 120 feet long, with I'm guessing 200 people. Though I couldn't see how many people were lined up in the store. I waited over 4 miserable hours in the cold and wind in a line that barely moved, until I got close enough to the store to look in the window and see why the line barely moved.
Marisol only had one cash register active. It appeared that they only had one employee waiting on the one person at a time that could be accommodated. A second register at a separate counter went unused until the occasional medical marijuana customer came along (more on that later). There were many more Marisol employees but they were standing around looking bored and doing nothing. If they were at all concerned with the hundreds of people who had been waiting hours and hours in the cold it wasn't apparent. I could see thru the window that there were around 75 people packed into the store looking furious.
From that point I was 15 feet away from the front door. It would have taken another hour to progress to the front door, and--according to the store security guard and a man in front of me who gave up and left once he finally got into the store after 5 hours--another 2 to 3 hours until I could have bought something. Once I realized that the excessive wait was due to the store's incompetence and lack of planning I decided that I was unwilling to give this crummy company a penny of my money so I left. I was exhausted from the 4+ hour wait. Still I left not because of exhaustion or the additional wait, but because I decided to boycott Marisol.
But wait there's more. I just wanted to buy recreational pot. Marisol made their customers for medical marijuana wait outdoors in the same freezing eternal line. I was standing beside a cancer sufferer who had to keep getting out of line to puke. And after 4 hours a man about 15 feet in front of me, almost to the front door, complained to an employee and at that point was finally allowed to get out of line and go to the medical counter to get what he needed. He was clearly pissed, and for good reason.
Marisol's callousness was just appalling. They could have had signs up directing medical patients to go directly inside to the medical counter. They could have had employees come outside to announce that medical customers could go directly inside to the medical counter. They could have distributed flyers telling medical customers to go directly inside to the medical counter. They could have distributed flyers with their product selection so people could make their choices in line and decide what else to get if the store ran out of some products. They could have done countless things to be more efficient and less callous, but they didn't bother. Hell, some shops even had propane heaters so the people outdoors in line could be less miserable. Not Marisol. Nope. Screw the customers.
A lot of people around me left in disgust without ever getting to buy anything after we got a look into the store and realized that there was only one employee running one cash register. A lot more people vowed never to patronize Marisol again. I'm one of those people.
I've been a member here for 2 or 3 months now, and I have been a card holder since Feb '13, so I've been to several dozen dispensaries. Saskia, Mindy and the other staff are so pleasant and attentive, they make it a pleasure to go to the store. I have only shopped at the Powers location since it's only 2 miles from the house. I specifically logged on today to mention three things: Killshot, in-house-edibles, and their concentrates. I didn't realize it until I went back to the store to comment on how kick-ass the Killshot I got was, that it had recently won The Hemp Connosseur Magazine's "Connosseur's Choice" award November '13! I knew it was good, but not that good! My tolerance has been crazy high thanks to the potency of The Canna Center's meds, but this killshot bud felt like I smoked a fatass bowl of bubble hash. They just started making these little peanutbutter/choc balls, they say they are like 88 active mg's, but they felt more like the 200mg Budha bars I've been eating. I had one early morning around 7, then ate the second one around noon, and was giggly and euphoric ALL DAY. Lastly, their Super Lemon Haze (which I also found out won an award at that same event "Patient's Choice") is uber-potent. I use it in my "Higher Altitude" e-pen (I don't think they sell them there, but they probably should look into it) and it works like a champ for ultimate discreetness around my teens, or when it's too cold/windy to smoke outside in this Colorado weather. I love this place! I've watched their glass, t-shirt and other inventory double or triple over the past few months. If you haven't been in a while, you should def. go back.

I am sorry that you are not happy with Maggie's pricing at the Canon City location. We appreciate your comments. We are working to ensure that after the first of the year Jan 2014 that our pre tax price and specials are the same at all of our current and soon to be expanding locations. Our past discrepancy between stores in pricing and specials has been due to different tax jurisdictions in which we operate. Our goal is consistent pricing throughout all of our centers.
You also addressed some concerns over the USDA organic certification. Thank You.
Since marijuana is still not federally legal, there is no USDA ORGANIC certification... That's why we have become certified by Clean Green which mirrors the USDA standard for produce.
WHEN USDA does endorse organic marijuana, we will not have to change anything to become certified, as organic marijuana.
