Re: “Colorado Springs Forward holds fundraiser for select council candidates

Colorado Springs Forward favors 'an all appointed' board of directors for Colorado Springs with their original draft proposal - that created a minor firestorm - called for the appointments to be made by the Mayor. Doonya is correct - this is a group to scrutinize closely as they have done nothing positive for the community but are excellent at fund-raising.

Re: “Colorado Springs Forward holds fundraiser for select council candidates

CSF can only win the April election for their chosen council members if the majority of Colorado Springs voters buy what Colorado Springs Forward is selling (literally). That voting majority outnumbers CSF by at least 1000 to one. There hasn't been a more critical vote for a new council in recent memory. If ever there was a time for each and every voter in Colorado Springs to think for his and her own self, this election is that time. One man, one vote.

The people standing on the medians on Powers Blvd are insane.

so it looks like all the rightfully out-of-work maketa ass kissers have a lot of time on their hands... they must be learning from our p***y grabber pres. elect that if you blame others for what you are doing it confuses the easily confused. also put something out, lie or not, that will grab headlines to avoid all your own transgressions headlines.

Just the facts please...

Re: “A handy guide to upcoming local actions around inauguration day

The National Women's Liberation organization is calling for a women's walkout on Friday, the 20th, as has happened in many other countries as a protest for women's rights. Too, someone suggested we all wear black on Friday - a true Black Friday!

This place is a banana republic. No, I'm wrong. Banana republics could learn from the way the city and county are run.

CSF supporting its chosen, insider candidates, funding their campaigns with insider, developer dollars, all to get council members who will support Nor'wood's agenda to put the cost of development, in both downtown and Banning Lewis Ranch, on the backs of the taxpayers.

Re: “Springs parks ballot issue deserves vote in April election

Do you support city council's tentative decision to not place the parks funding measure on the April 2017 ballot? A one minute Quick Poll. Thank you for participating.

Certain that Ms.Lathen will be prompt and forthcoming with the list of candidates that CSF is supporting.

Re: “U.S. Olympic Museum wants money from Colorado Springs

I hardly think investing in an Olympic Museum is something the city of Colorado Springs should be expected to pay for. We have bigger issues to concern ourselves with.

Protests are fine, but don't forget to CALL ( not just email) your senators and representatives too!

Re: “Downtown Colorado Springs on a roll

"Nationally, trends show more people want to live and work in an urban environment. With our cost of living and proximity to the outdoors, Downtown Colorado Springs is perfectly poised for this growth."

Except Colorado Springs isn't very urban, so stating that it is 'perfectly poised', is a bit of a stretch.

Re: “Hickenlooper: Mentally ill shouldn't go to jail

What does the governor or a police officer know about brain disorders, medications and diagnosing a patient? Anyone who self-medicates can wind up in prison very easily except the law calls it "drug abuse". The agency that runs the medical industry is not made up of physicians but rather DEA agents. Every doctor that writes prescriptions to patients must pay a yearly fee to the DEA for a permit. Many cannot get medications because doctors are in fear of the DEA. In fact most people in this country fear law enforcement and the court system and that is not a healthy situation but the War on Drugs must continue. We must not have negative thoughts either the story states and it has been stated over and over since the 1970's self-help book craze. That it is completely wrong is something quack therapists and hippie mystics cannot admit.
Also there is no such thing as "mental illness". Where or what is your mental? How does it become ill???

The governor is trying to avert attention away from the continuous sub-standard treatment of inmates and especially now with the Fremont County Sheriff's blatant disregard for prisoners and the private for-profit company that enables abuse at his jail. Now that an inmate who could not make bail, was not convicted of any crime yet was imprisoned then denied his medication ( Klonopin) and ended up dead. The private company stated the jail is a "narcotic free zone". Klonopin is for anxiety is not a narcotic it is a benzodiazepine. But to supply an inmate with anything is a profit loss. Stopping any benzodiazepine causes withdrawals and apparently as with the deceased inmate it also causes contusions and numerous broken ribs. The Sheriff did not order an investigation of the death and now the Federal government is taking it to trial and likely the sheriff will become an inmate.

This is all stemming from the amateurish antics of the untrained spewing out their ignorance of medicine. Right here we were told how anxiety is "cured" by "no more negative thoughts" and painting pictures! How dare you print such rubbish! Talk about stigmatizing something! How about focusing on your readership which is the left and their anger issues and their being in denial? Which by the way, anger is a normal human emotion and how it has become almost a crime can be traced right back to the "for profit = kickback" court system which touts itself as the best in the world-sentencing people to bogus anger management classes. Again utter claptrap but people are believing it because it is repeated often enough.

Try researching before writing and if not then write about sidewalks or write how to write about sidewalks. Or perhaps take a lesson from Hazelhurst who can write about anything as long as it involves mentioning his house on the West Side. He might write as though his brain is abnormal but his diagnosis no doubt will be alcoholism, a.k.a. "self-medicating". Oh yeah, it is okay to be negative about Doug Bruce for decades right?
