He just up and left with notice? What a total and complete ass.
At least when the Craftwood closed and left me unemployed I got a text message and they closed because they ran out of money.

I used to eat breakfast at the Old Dutch Mill after graveyard shifts, once a week. Since it was MY "Friday Night", I'd kick back a Shock Top or two, as soon as they started serving at 7am. I was just looking the bar up, as I may try to visit The Springs, soon. I was a bit sad, but also very excited, to find this article. The food at The Old Dutch Mill was PHENOMENAL... it was ABSOLUTELY the BEST dive-bar food I have encountered in over 4 decades on this planet. If she's gone into fine-dining, I have no doubt it's amazing.

Oh! How sweet! The time is just right for me to attend! Thank goodness for stumbling here. I should sign up now for a reservation on April 19th. Tickets are pretty pricey but I know that the dishes are worthwhile to consume.

The Watering Bowl did this in Denver but the health department caused so many problems for them they had to stop allowing dogs inside. The Bark Bar in Denver was not an indoor restaurant, but a dog park bar and coffee place and again, neighbors and code enforcement shut them down. Local government would not give guidelines to how to comply before these businesses opened, so hopefully it will be different in the Springs. I'm really hoping governments can work with business people to make the concept work because for the few months I could take my dogs inside the Watering Bowl, it was awesome.

Our first and last visit to the cafe was disappointing to say the least. I would have given the cafe 2 stars for ambience, but after having to work our way through the maze of chairs to our table, it gets 1 star.

We ordered the beet salad with blackened salmon, the Friday fish and chips, (I hope they don't serve it any other day of the week) and the carnitas taco. All dish with pathetic and far from gourmet.

I guess the gourmet word for blackened is burnt. The only this that could have saved this meal was to scape of the burnt portion and ask for lemon which never came because our waitress forgot and spent her time folding napkins. The salad portion consisted of 4 beets and maybe a half cup of lettuce. A stretch of the term salad.

The fish and chips had greasy stale fries, oily flavorless cabbage, (I guess this was the cold slaw), two pieces of what appeared to be fish but on further investigation was just a thick over fired crust with dried out fish skin on the inside. At the end of our "lunch" and when our "waitress" was finished folding the napkins and looked up at her tables, we finally got the opportunity to let our waitress know about the meal. She said she'd take "a couple of bucks off". Real gourmet style I must say.

The pork carnitas looked like ground up baby food in a corn shell. Thats all I can say about that. Other than it didn't resemble anything I have ever seen ordered that had the word carnitas in it.

Shame of you...... 3 strikes..... your out!

The Grub Trolley has amazingly great food. I love to track these ladies down and stuff my face with the deliciousness. My favorite so far is the Caprese Sliders. But I also can't help but order fried mac-n-cheese every time I go. I seriously love this food. I'm excited to hear they are expanding their hours to breakfast!

A sopaipilla, sopapilla, sopaipa, or cachanga is a kind of fried pastry and a type of quick bread served in Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, Peru and Uruguay, New Mexico and Texas. Some Mexican restaurants serve them to capture other Latin American customers but they are not know in Mexico.
