Re: “County Commissioners to marijuana businesses: Green crosses have got to go

The Green Cross has got to go?!?! What a joke, people find reasons to poke and prod for whatever reason possible.. just so they can fuck with people over and over again, and make their lives miserable...but it's okay to have a Red Cross though, and give people a bunch of synthetic patented chemicals that have 10 - 15 side effects for each pill they give you, that will either make you want to kill yourself or kill you in the process....soo don't worry about that red cross, yaaaa...those green crosses are the ones we got to worry about!!

This is a going to be something of debate for many years to come. This has become a polarizing subject and it will probably get nasty before it gets better.

Re: “Federal Judge strikes down lawsuit against recreational marijuana

Its very well know the effects and dangers of pot have been overblown. The scientific community has known it for generations. Clear back in the 70s and 80s they wanted to give it to people with Cancer. Its MONEY pure and simple. Law enforcement, Prisons, our Government and Pharm. industry has made major money off it being illegal and still are. Its the hardest to smuggle and the easiest to bust and the most used. Without it on the list its hard to justify there budget's and keeps a lot of folks out of the Pharmacy. If the populace is scared of it they pay the Government to get rid of it. Think of the tax money spent to keep people in jail over something that dont cause injury to anyone. Its illegal and has stayed illegal because its profitable to those in charge of the laws.

They took settlements. They don't care if there's weed or not they just want a cut of the money.

Agree 100% MALCOLMKYLE I do understand how you feel - I believe it is a lack of awareness and a refusal to learn - this is pure ignorance - the stigma created over the years clouds judgement - it is a matter of time. We have come a long way and we are headed in the right direction. This is a huge victory!

Re: “Federal Judge strikes down lawsuit against recreational marijuana

Prohibitionists, you owe the rest of us answers to the following questions:

#1. Why are you not concerned with the fact that we have all been stripped of our unalienable rights, leaving us totally subordinate to a corporatized, despotic government and a heavily armed and corrupt, militarized police force whose often deadly intrusions into our homes and lives are condoned by an equally corrupt and spineless judiciary?

#2. Why do you wish to continue to spend $50 billion a year to prosecute and cage your fellow citizens for choosing substances which are not more dangerous than those of which you yourself probably use and approve of, such as alcohol and tobacco?

#3. Do you honestly expect the rest of us to look on passively while you waste another trillion dollars on this ruinously expensive garbage policy?

#4. Why are you waging war on your own family, friends and neighbors?

#5. Why are you so complacent with the fact that our once 'proud and free' nation now has the largest percentage of it's citizenry incarcerated than any other on the entire planet?

#6. Why are you helping to fuel a budget crisis to the point of closing hospitals, schools and libraries?

#7. Why do you wish to continue spending precious resources on prohibition related undercover work while rapists and murderers walk free, while additionally, many cases involving murder and rape do not even get taken to trial because law enforcement priorities are subverted by your beloved failed and dangerous policy?

#8. Why are you a supporter of the 'prison industrial complex' to the extent of endangering our nation's children?

Re: “City adopts penalties for underage possession of paraphernalia, D-11 releases marijuana offense stats

Judging from their actions, I would say that City leaders have no intention to honor the democratic process or the will of the voters in C. springs...... Other places are legalizing, decriminalizing, while this town recriminalizes. And Republicans like Gaebler are heading up the suppression effort, they all have "reefer madness" big time. Fortunately there is not much opportunity for them outside of El Paso County.......

Ridiculous. Focus on the physically addictive drugs and the newer, less known synthetic drugs. Stop putting kids in an unescapable system over something that we, citizens&taxpayers, voted as legal. All this is about, is money.and control.

Jill Gaebler.. I'm sorry that common sense did not prevail on this. It may have been well intended, but goes way to far. As I read this, a teen in possession of a flower pot or potting soil would be a victim of the council's "reefer madness" paraphernalia ordinance.

Or gum wrappers, Bic pens, rolls of aluminum foil,...

Nothing brings out creativity like pot and nothing to smoke it with. Education on why they should wait until later in life to smoke cannabis would be money and effort better spent. I guess when the only tool you know how to use is a hammer every problem looks like a nail.

Re: “Cannabis clubs take organizing steps, solicitor general weighs in on suit

our great nation was founded on life, liberty, the constitution and the bill of rights.

cannabis clubs deserve the sames rights as other private social clubs to exercise those rights: privacy, peaceful assembly and in Colorado the right to consume cannabis as an adult.

these rights shall not be infringed. it seems clear that some bad apples have soured the city administration, city council and the current executive branch.

but the wrongs of few shall not condemn the rights of many.

"The Bill of Rights lists specific Prohibitions on Governmental Power. One of the many points of contention between Federalists and Anti-Federalists was the Constitution’s lack of a bill of rights that would place specific LIMITS on government power."

no government has the RIGHT to deny peaceful assembly, private gatherings, expression and in CO cannabis consumption.

do NOT let government take the rights that we fought so hard for away.

Re: “City considers penalties for minors, Representatives scold DEA, and more.

>>>"the city does not levy its own penalties for under-18 drinkers, despite the health risk."

This seems problematic. - Given that alcohol is clearly addictive and destructive to health while marijuana has no significant harms, why would we push teens toward destruction with this great legal imbalance?

All teens survive their marijuana use. - Some teens don't survive their alcohol use, and if they do, they can set their lives on a deadly course.

Penalties for marijuana should never be more than penalties for alcohol.

Re: “City considers penalties for minors, Representatives scold DEA, and more.

Secret courts,Loyality purges? The D.E.A. and F.D.A. have become the U.S. equivalent of Gestapo S.S.. The D.E.A. was a bad idea to start with and has only gotten worse ever sense. States are able to do their job. They don't need the D.E.A. I don't need the D.E.A. You don't need the D.E.A. .Nobody needs the D.E.A. They are misappropriating and commandeering billions of dollars of public funds that America can no longer justify..Their funding needs to be cut by,at least, ninety-five to ninty-nine percent and all need to be restructured to a much smaller and much more restrained gang of Authoritarian sociopaths.. This is a group of renegade law enforcement completely out-of-control .and way over-the-top.They are using the war on drugs as a smokescreen and a ruse to subvert our Civil and Human rights and increasingly more as a ruse to seize cash and property in their war on the American people. Also, through gross incompetence, have made it nearly impossible for a pain sufferer to get treatment without being thrown in jail.
mismanagement and unwise misuse of their responsibility has, nearly, completely destroyed the science and research of anything they don't approve of. If society is to survive these people must go. The drug war is just a ruse for an Authoritarian power grab. Other country's that allow easy access to pain medication do not have a major drug problem. It is these government villains here who are orchestrating this farce.
