Re: “Commissioner egos, mental health resources, a letter to Lamborn, and more

Mike Endres: You don't get it; the Indy didn't go by actual gender, they went by identified gender!

Harold Mason: Respectful cooperation goes both ways, so bug the Democrats on that; a serious budget was killed in each of the past 5 years by the Democrats, too; expanded health care coverage is not a federal delegated power (read your Constitution); infrastructure spending is a state issue; AGW is a political joke; equal pay for women is a marketplace issue, not a government issue; promoting alternative energy is the job of the marketplace, not government; essential regulations as defined by whom?; common-sense gun control is not made by regulation and restriction but by training and education; women's health is not a federal government issue; and immigration policy is a mess.

Re: “Springs parks ballot issue deserves vote in April election

Do you support city council's tentative decision to not place the parks funding measure on the April 2017 ballot? A one minute Quick Poll. Thank you for participating.

Re: “Colorado Springs cancels buffered bike line experiment

I'm not sure my quote came out quite right, at least how I meant to say it.

I do care if people ride bikes, and I'd like citizens and visitors all around Colorado Springs to be able to safely, efficiently and for whatever reason they would like to, from their own garage to a place of value within their own community, or beyond. No matter their age or ability.

Do I want to force people onto bicycles, no.

I truly believe that if we build a community that allows transportation choices, people will be free to use whatever mode suits them best, brings them the most enjoyment, allows for variety and meets the needs of our city's modern needs.

Odin writes, "General rule of arguments: The first person accuse someone of fascism is almost always wrong and is almost always an ignorant dickhead."

Don't forget the same rule applies to socialism, as so many "ignorant dickheads" demonstrated when accusing Obama.

Re: “Lamborn votes to give away public lands; the homeless, CSU and more

For the last eight years right-wing ideologues have been whining about Obama, and they have been whining about Clinton for 24 years. It did not take any of them long to figure out that whining losers are objects of derision, as they themselves have been for so many years.

Bob Nicoll asks, "Want an orange slice?"

Watch out! A Trump (Registered Trademark) orange slice could cost as much as $25, plus tip for service, and chances are the supplier was stiffed!

Re: “Lamborn votes to give away public lands; the homeless, CSU and more

Lil Mick, you haven't got a clue what fascism is or isn't, you just throw the term around to try to feel superior, just as you throw out your family's past service, which, by the way, pales in comparison to that of my family. Plus, unlike you, I served as well and did multiple tours in Iraq and Afghanistan, as well as serving in Bosnia and DESERT STORM.

General rule of arguments: The first person accuse someone of fascism is almost always wrong and is almost always an ignorant dickhead.

Re: “Lamborn votes to give away public lands; the homeless, CSU and more

I am 61 years old, my father and mother both enlisted in the Army to fight the spread of fascism in Europe, which would eventually have come to our shores.

I am speaking of WW II, my mother joined the Women's Army Corp, and my father was a 2nd lieutenant who fought on the front lines in France.

My father took a bullet from a German soldier, shattering his right arm and went through major surgery, grafting his thigh bone to repair the shattered bones in his arm.

He is a purple heart recipient and to me they are both heroes who fought to keep their children, grandchildren and great grandchildren free from fascism.

Odin and Bob Nicoll, you are both cowardly, ignorant, disgusting human beings and this country and world would be better off without either of you.

You fucking fascist bastards disgust me!

Re: “Colorado Springs cancels buffered bike line experiment

I too live in briargate, a couple blocks from research and literally drive the entire length of it to get to work and never once received any type of notification. I don't have an HOA in my neighborhood and there were no visible signs posted either. I absolutely support more biking routes in the city, but taking away traffic lanes isn't the way to do it. I lived in Fort Collins for several years and loved the bike route structure there, you can ride all the way through town without having to share the path with dangerous drivers! That is more of what we need in this town.

Re: “Colorado Springs cancels buffered bike line experiment

This article is the pinnacle of shameful and unprofessional "journalism" to the point of fiction writing. Allen Beauchamp is on the city's payroll as an adaptive bike specialist. Canadian-born Cory Sutela is a Manitou Springs resident and employed by Sram, a high-end bike manufacturer. (Is Sutela even a registered voter in Colorado?) Surely, both Beauchamp and Sutela receive some stipend for their Bike Colorado Springs roles that are grant funded by Colorado Health. One would like to believe Colorado Health's purpose in funding Bike Colorado Springs was fitness not political activism. Let's not overlook there's money to be made for Beauchamp and Sutela. Why not share those key facts, Tim Bergsten?

Re: “Colorado Springs cancels buffered bike line experiment

Where did the funding come for this Bicycling Experiment come from? We didnt have money to fix our potholes and crumbling roads throughout the city a few years ago. We had to implement a tax to get this taken care of. Public schools no longer have the funds for bus transportation. We are threatened every now and then that we cant afford our police force. So why are we spending money on several large salaries for this planning committee? How much money went into this failed project total? Not just salaries and related expenses, but their share of city resources they took? How long will they continue to spend money, time and resources on a failed experiment?

Re: “Colorado Springs cancels buffered bike line experiment

To those who seemed confused that the author isn't pretending to hide his agenda or to take it with a very large grain of salt. This article is listed under the columns heading (for the column titled Good Dirt) and not the news heading of the Indy. That means it's his take on things. It should not surprise you at all.
