Been going to heart of Jerusalem for a year now. Always hot in there and the music drives me up the wall. Staff is not very friendly either, although I'd find it hard to be sociable in that swelter all day too. Great food though.
This guy Bryce should open his own place...I bet it would be awesome
It's a bar with pub food. It can be decent, but there is very little consistency. Burned one day but not the next. Stick with the pizza or a sandwich and a beer. The staff usually seems to have a "don't care" attitude.
Ate at Little Nepal last week...terrific, and they are so lovely to their customers while letting you eat and talk without intrusion...my family left very happy about the food and the experience. What God intended in creating so many spices, textures, and options!
Somehow these brew pubs like Trinity and the The Republic are so cliquish that craft beer lovers who have to attend to job and family don't seem devoted enough to warrant attention from the in-crowd servers at these places on their occasional night out with the guys.
I wouldn't trust food connected to the Underground to be much more than you describe.
For me...the Ivywild School rehab offers a much nicer and cleaner setting with proven food and beer for a cheaper price, nicer treatment, and a certainty that you won;t get food poisoning.
A fundraiser to benefit Adams Mountain Cafe and staff has been announced for Thursday, Aug., 22, 6 to 8:30 p.m. at the Margarita at PineCreek. $25 per person includes Bristol beers, tapas and small plates alongside live music. Seating is limited so call ahead (598-8667) to reserve.
I hope he continues to offer free wi-fi (with a five dollar purchase) as the sign on the door says...not sure how it is free if you have to spend $5, although I understand what the purpose is.
I haven't had a single bad meal from there in my MANY visits. Oh noes, it's a chain! Sorry if that cramps your street cred. It certainly doesn't mean it's not worth eating because they have more than one location. Weak.

Pretty sketchy...sort of looks like they hired panhandlers who really don't know what they are doing so what you get in your bowl is a total crap shoot.
I've eaten there several times and the only thing I like there is the Colorado Cheese Steak sandwich that you can only get during the lunch service.
Definitely one of my all time favorite restaurants in the Springs and the list is short.
Other than the wait staff being at best mediocre...the atmosphere, food, and owners are terrific...Our family has eaten there from day one and have long ago lost track of the number of fun and satisfying evening we have spent at Paravicini's...I would imagine over 75.
It's a chain restaurant. Nuff said.

I love reading the independent each week, but wow, I really have to disagree with the review of Tokyo Joe's. Our family use to drive up to Denver weekly to enjoy this restaurant and now that we have it here in the Springs we and all our friends have been going there twice a week and the food has been amazing each time. The place is packed everytime, so it's not just us that feel this way. The staff is so friendly, plus it's a super healthy option that even my kids want to go to often. So Bryce, you really got this one wrong in my and many others opinion. Makes me wonder if they did not advertise with you all or something because your review was so far from what most people are saying about it. Maybe you should give it another try or something ? We love it.

Egads. IMO that is NOT a "well worthwhile" place to visit.
If a place can't get fries right, avoid it .... fries are so basic, so universal, such a "food 101" kind of thing that no decent place should ever serve salty limp fries.

King - Now that is a dang good review. Well written and didn't pretend that you were not his buddy. I'm going to try it simply because I liked what you said and how you said it.
Andres has a passion for cooking and I have a passion for good food. We spent a lot of time in a kitchen in Iraq together talking about that passion and his plans to get his own thing started.
(by the way, I wasn't in there cooking. I was in there waiting for his food to be done!) He is a master of making appetizing meals with limited materials in confined spaces. Combine that with his Columbian influence and you're left with food that tastes fresh and leaves you feeling satisfied.
I am completely confident that this will be THE BEST food truck in Colorado and will only get better. I vouch for this man and his truck not only as a friend but as a food enthusiast.
Enjoy his food truck while you can. With his personality, it won't be long before he ends up with his own television show.
