East Coast Deli on Tejon Street. Authentic NY deli style pastrami, corned beef and hot dogs are flown in from the Big Apple. They have a Kosher area in the kitchen. No other deli in the Springs can compare. I take a friend there whose family used to own a Deli in Brooklyn back in the 1930s-60's and she knows great deli when she tastes it. We tried others in town and only the East Coast Deli brings a smile to her 87 year old face and the comment "now THIS is a good sandwich!".

No visit to the Springs area is complete without stopping off to see and experience the delightful shops, restaurants and lodging in Monument & Palmer Lake .... just up the hill on I-25, 10-15 minutes north of Colorado Springs! Experience the small-town, family-friendly, Colorado-style atmosphere in this Tri Lakes region. There are hiking trails, parks, lakes, shopping, dining, and more! Best of all, you'll be greeted with a genuine smile :-)
Love the area and the incredible shops and restaurants!
Two other restaurants (both on Front Street in Historic Monument) well worth mentioning are La Casa Fiesta Mexican Restaurant, which offers the best Carnitas Fajitas around! They have also mastered the Sopapilla, you can't pass it up :-) http://www.lacasafiesta.net/
The other is The Coffee Cup Cafe ~ down-home goodness for breakfast and lunch in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. Try the #11 ... best biscuits & gravy I've had! And they truly are the Best Breakfast in Town! http://www.coffeecupmonument.com/
THANK YOU so much for recognizing our wonderful Tri-Lakes community! In our eyes, their is no better place to come spend an afternoon, a day or a weekend! Again, thank you and we hope many more people will come visit us soon!
The correct website address for Trinity Covenant Reformed Church is trinity-covenant.org. Thanks for fixing this.
Yoga has literally changed my life and it is nice to see it get some PR. It seems in Colorado Springs that there is still a lot of fear out there about Yoga, but the general feel is changing. I think the fear has to do with spiritual foundation of yoga. It's been great to breath well, move well, and care for my frame. Chiropractic introduced the importance of caring for your frame to me and Yoga has helped that idea along. I go to Thrive Chiropractic at www.doctormolly.com and I know they are starting donation yoga classes just after the New Year. Manitou Yoga has exploded by offering donation yoga and it has built a strong community in Manitou. Check out donation yoga. It's a cool way to build community.
Predatory Lending is a major contributor to the economic turmoil we are currently experiencing.
Here is an example of what I am talking about:
Scott Veerkamp / Predatory Lending (Franklin Township School Board Member.)
Please review this information from U.S. Senator Jeff Merkley regarding deceptive lending practices:
"Steering payments were made to brokers who enticed unsuspecting homeowners into deceptive and expensive mortgages. These secret bonus payments, often called Yield Spread Premiums, turned home mortgages into a SCAM."
The Center for Responsible Lending says YSP "steals equity from struggling families."
1. Scott collected nearly $10,000 on two separate mortgages using YSP and junk fees. 2. This is an average of $5,000 per loan. 3. The median value of the properties was $135,000. 4. Clearly, this type of lending represents a major ripoff for consumers.

Note on "Where to Learn:"
CityRock Colorado Springs/Monument offer outdoor guiding for beginner and advanced climbers, not just indoor instruction. All of their instructors are AMGA or PCIA certified.
New Farmer's Market- High Plains of Colorado.

What about Homegrown on Tejon, Mondays 10-1?
Rich, we enjoyed your tour of C.S. How about a tour of Manitou Springs?
I've always been a tea-drinker, fascinated with all things tea. Now I've come across this curious coffee-flavored tea http://tinyurl.com/coffeeT and wonder what pure coffee drinkers think of it. Or is there such a thing as tea-flavored coffee?

If you're interested in playing ultimate instead of disc golf, check out the Colorado Springs Ultimate Network. They offer pickup games, Summer and Fall league play, club-level teams, and a high school league. www.springsultimate.org
