Re: “A Federated States of America?

Time to debunk the Hazy Hurts again...

The short of it is this:

Your criminal girl Hillary lost. Get over it and kwityergritchin', old man.

The long of it is this:

Yes, the con man won, and he immediately has moved left to embrace the policies that your criminal girl Hillary and your socialist pals in Failuresville just love, so kwitchyergritchin', old man.

That, and you really need to crack open a real history book and learn the difference between the federal form of government we as a nation started with and kept until 1860 and the national form of government that we've had ever since (and screwed up the nation mightily along the way, too).

But then again, Hazy, you're a bitter old man socialist, so I don't expect any of that to ever happen. You're simply not bright enough.

So you're left to whining and complaining and engaging in typical liberal stereotypes, devoid of susbstance and full of crap.

So do us all a favor: kwitchergritchin', old man.

AMERICA DOESN'T NEED TO BRING THIS OIL PIPELINE THRU THEIR LANDS AND RISK POLUTING THEIR RESOURSES! New survey finds twenty billion barrels of oil worth up to $900 billion under west Texas in largest continuous field ever discovered in the U.S.

Re: “Colorado Springs Forward, the Trump presidency, helmet laws, and more

"Pam Zubeck's article was an outstanding public service."

Absolutely agree!!
And to the extent that the lack of transparency shown by CSF is mirrored by the city administration, great caution from the citizens of Colorado Springs is called for on both fronts.

Re: “Time has come for Trump's revolution, and reflections on a Trump presidency

Mr. Grabbee;
Did I hurt your feelings so badly that you have to make up more brainless name-calling and insults so typical of Trump and his minions?

"so you hate half of America"

Na, not so much "hate" as simple contempt.
Half? No, not even close to half. After all, Hillary got MORE Americans to vote for her than Trump did. So that's a bit encouraging, although it does not speak well for democracy.
I guess its too much to ask, here in 21st century America, that we have a President who has enough personal integrity to NOT be enthusiastically backed by Nazis.
Your post (unless its brilliant sarcasm) reflects a perfect example of the type of individual I see as having voted FOR Trump. Now I can add Nazi to the list of "virtues" I associate with Trump voters.

Re: “UPDATE: Parks ballot measure down to the wire

it seems like the parks department is all about putting in gates and blocking off trails. the bathrooms are locked and if we are lucky they pick up the trash. be fine to see who is putting the money in their pockets and building swimming pools.

Re: “District looking for answers after failure of bond, MLO

Some odd comments on here. First, a Bond isn't exclusively (or even often times, anything to do with) building NEW schools. It's more commonly to support the upkeep of existing, in some cases quite antiquated buildings. Surely we don't want our children being educated for the 21st century in buildings barely fit for the 20th century?

I don't remember the district anywhere down-playing the cost, or suggesting that it the proposed additional taxes weren't 'a big deal'. They simply tallied up their needs, focused on those that were a most pressing priority, costed them accordingly, and presented that to the taxpayers.

What about the benefit to tax payers when they see an increase in their property VALUES? When you live in an area where the schools are modern, high-tech, and in high demand, local home owners benefit? What's the value of that?

The old boy network is alive and well here. Be nice if they would do stuff for all of us instead of just lining their wallets.

Re: “Water contamination, the election, bigotry, and more

Ahhhh, Tannim - the resident snarker and authority in chief. It's good to be home in Colorado again so I can again begin to get you to wipe the BS out of your eyes and see what a negative you are in any sensible conversation. All the letters and comments were spot on - especially the one where you commented that Democrats have had a long history of racism and bigotry - I agree, but most of us grew out of it, and Trump has brought it back to the fore. If this is who you are then you had better hope that someone opposed to your bigotry doesn't wipe up the floor of some bar with you. Mr. Armintor's issue with Trump U goes to the issue of character - Trump is not the non-politician he claims to be - he is a dyed in the wool political actor who will say anything to get the votes of each of the mini-groups he was able to drive wedge issues between. His staff's consulting with Putin's staff after the nomination, and his daughter's use of a photo op to sell her line of jewelry, coupled with the infomercial about the Trump Hotel in Washington being a gathering place for foreign diplomats and others seeking to curry Trump's favor are lining his pockets before he is even inaugurated give me great pause. The man has no character at all. To say that Hillary Clinton is in it for herself only and ignore the fact that Trump is exponentially more toxic in that area than she is to be blinded by ideology.

UCanSee, you obviously are drinking the Breitbart Kool-Aid, too. I read a lot, I have a high school friend who was Mayor of Little Rock, and I've probed for some speck of truth in this character assassination that has gone on for three decades but have found none. Oh, that Mayor of Little Rock was the only person to actually be convicted in the Whitewater/Lewinski fiasco and is not exactly on speaking terms with his former law office partner.

Re: “After teen suicides, local school uses art to heal

Thank you Indy and Griffin for this well written and relevant article. Discovery Canyon Campus Community of students ,teachers, staff and parents make up a unique school. Like so many other schools, people come and go without interacting very much each day due to the many activities, academic demands, and personal focus. The continual stream of fish swimming together is a wonderfullly quiet, non-demanding reminder that we are truly not alone, even if we look different, see life or politics differently. I saw one of the fish on the floor the other day. It had fallen of the current and as I put "him" back up into the current I thought to myself that not one should be "lost" . Simple and very Real

Re: “Time has come for Trump's revolution, and reflections on a Trump presidency

Tannim, you need to remember that the Constitution is not just made up of the 2nd and 4th Amendments. In Article II, Section 1 we are given the tools to right this wrong and we should use them while we can. Article II, Section 1 charges the Electors with voting the will of the people (1,152,000+ and counting for Hillary over Trump), and to eliminate unfit candidates. This is also restated in The Federalist Papers #68 where it makes the Electoral College the gatekeeper against demagoguery. Trump is a vulgarian at best and not the kind of national figure we should present to the world. At worst he is a con artist, racist, xenophobic mysoginist and a narcissistic sociopath to boot. But that's not the worst of it - the people he has chosen to advise him are worse than he is.

Don't wait to impeach this nutcase for his multiple conflicts of interest...then we get Pence and a theocracy. The time to act is now. Before the Electors vote. On December 19th.

It's also obvious, Tannim, that your primary news source has to be Breitbart and Alt-Right. Breitbart and Co have been sliming Hillary Clinton since she became First Lady - it is extremely profitable for them to do that. Who are you going to hate if the Clintons are gone? I'd say "try me", but you already do that.

Re: “Time has come for Trump's revolution, and reflections on a Trump presidency

Mr. Bremer,
Healthcare in the USA has failed in the "market-based" system, as evidenced by the staggering 14% of GDP we spend on healthcare--this is twice the amount spent by other developed nations. A study of healthcare economics is crucial, before opining on a subject . Give us your opinion , sure, but what are your opinions based on? Mine are based on university-level study of healthcare economics and 20 years of patient care and management.

Someone needs to place a Richard Dawkins book next to it on the same table and watch as the xtians scream that they're being persecuted just because other views are allowed to be expressed equally.
