Re: “American Classics Marketplace

Have shopped there over 10 years and always liked finding unique things. My GO TO place!

Re: “American Classics Marketplace

American Classics Marketplace is part flea market and part museum. A fun place to browse and be reminded of the way things used to be, it also has plenty of opportunities for picking up a bargain-priced item to complete your home's decor. Turnover is quick though, so you'll need to make up your mind on most things right away.

My only complaint? It's a very large and maze-like facility - thus you'll never remember where you saw something unless you take notes.

Re: “Sanders' rebellion is alive

I helped sponsor Mr. Hightower to speak to the Democrats in Tom Green County, TX prior to the 2012 election - I'm a huge fan, and I think he's exactly right. Bernie 'spoke' to all of us when he belabored the system for being corrupt and rigged for the rich. I would have voted for him without reservation. Now we have to avoid a Trump presidency and there is no way I'm going to split the vote. What would our world be like if the new President was favored by Vladimir Putin, his puppet master Aleksandr Dugin and owes millions to the Chinese banking system.

I strongly agree with NewTom that Bernie has had a positive influence on the Democratic platform and I would remind other readers that this country has always been something of a socialist democracy. We all pay for common services and infrastructure...as long as some anti-tax, debt-addled sequestering fool doesn't shut the government down again (are you listening, Ted Cruz?)

Re: “ColoradoCare, Donald Trump, Palmer Park improvements, and more

Kyle, one other thought after I posted my last ...again, long response, sorry about that.

Tulsi Gabbard, whom I love, has strong native Samoan blood lines.

There are other Native people running down ballot.

Let's support them.

They had it right, it was the white man, wacicu that screwed things up. Let's put our government back in their hands.

Don't give up on being a liberal or progressive, we need folks like you to help right the ship..so to speak.

Just a though my friend. :)

Re: “ColoradoCare, Donald Trump, Palmer Park improvements, and more

KyleJs,

I can totally relate to what you are saying. I don't think there was anything you wrote that I would disagree with.

I was a "berner" for the reasons you wrote.

I agree with the use of taxes, our means of giving back and what I really liked is you didn't seem to have an issue with using taxes to help lift Americans out of poverty, to help give all Americans good health care. I had read that the dental health of middle class Americans is equivalent to third world nations. If someone questions that, I will look that up to get some references.

Those uses are what seems to give conservatives so much heart burn. Calling it a "nanny state', or takers vs. makers.

I would love to see less money going to the military, I think we spend more than enough. Stop paying for regime changes and nation building and into the hands of middle class Americans.

I think we are in agreement.

I don't love Hillary, neither do I dislike her. :) I have a lot of issues with Hillary. I do dislike Trump.

Like it or not, one of those two will be leading this nation for at least the next 4 years. Trump frightens me much more than Hillary.

Lesser of two evils....sure.

It would be nice to change our system to where 3rd or more party candidates would have a real chance of a real run in this country. But we are still in a place where 3rd or more party candidates will give the election to either the Republican or Democratic candidate. That's the problem with voting for one of them.

I don't think Dr. Stein is really qualified to run a country like this, I like what she says, but some I think is simply impractical at this point in time.

I will never vote for a libertarian, as in my opinion, they don't like "community". They want to be left alone to take of themselves and the rest of us to fend for ourselves. Obviously, from my last post, that is a problem for me. I believe in community.

I don't mind calling myself a liberal or progressive. I am an independent as far a political parties go, being a Vermonter, it is implicit to be an Independent as we don't affiliate to a party, because they don't ask.

The other reason I would vote for Hillary, is we still have the Bern! He is not going anywhere and is going to be very involved now with transforming the Democratic party. He has already made a huge difference in the platform and with some of Hillary's positions. She has moved a bit to the left on some issues thanks to the Berne.

To move this country more to where you would like to see it go, support the Revolution, support candidates like Tulsi Gabbard and other more progressive folks down ballot and it will help to continue to move Hillary to the left, ones who will push back on her more hawkish tendencies and less into building bombs and nations

Who knows what we would get with Trump. It scares the crap out of me and makes me feel good I am less than two hours from Canada. Just in case.

I think you rock, Kyle.

Stay involved, work with the revolution, the revolution needs you and I believe even with Hillary in the white house, we can move in the direction you and I would like to go. I don't think we have that hope with Trump.

Pilamaya Yelo my friend....Mitakue Oyasin.

Re: “10-year-old is seizure-free after one year of cannabis oil

I am unable to post this in the Success Stories for whatever reason, so I posted here. I was diagnosed with prostate cancer on October 18, 2013. I was advised by my doctor that my only options were to have radiation seeds implanted in my prostate or receive regular external beam radiation. I declined. I knew there had to be other options.
I scoured the Internet and discovered a wealth of information about cannabis oil curing cancer. I was able to obtain some medical marijuana Dr. Mike Williams (Cannabis Oil Treatment) from it and consumed the recommended dosage by mid January.
On January 26th I had a cancer reassessment which consisted of an MRI with a state of the art Tesla 3 MRI machine. Results – NO SIGN OF CANCER! CANCER FREE!
One of the things that helped me while going through all this was reading the testimonials and the success stories of those who have used the oil and were cured And with good food diet. Now that this wonderful oil has cured me, I feel I need to let others know as well. Please feel free to contact me, ask anything should you like more information or directly contact Dr. mike Williams at: cannabisoiltreatment@hotmailcom or Cannabisoiltreatment@gmail.com were i purchased from. Thank you, Jay Lynn Rucker

Re: “Bible approved for AFB desk

efcan, freedom to make a choice about whether you worship or not is exactly what the 1st Amendment is about...so freedom from religion is part of that equation. In Article 2 of the Constitution there is a section about there being no religious test for holding public office. Ergo, there is no religious test for being a US citizen either. Freedom from religion is a personal choice, as is freedom of religion. I choose the former.

Re: “Bible approved for AFB desk

Unfortunately, Lamar, the people you elect push your religious agenda. I'm tired of being labeled as a Christian hater - I am not. But government is intended, and always has been intended, to be secular. If you want a good example of what a religious state is like try taking a look at the Taliban or the Islamic State. Not for me. Please keep your religion out of my government.

Re: “ColoradoCare, Donald Trump, Palmer Park improvements, and more

Lil Mick-

I appreciated your writing, and would specifically like to comment on your discussion of taxes and paying them in the spirit of 'giving back'. I agree with this sentiment. However, I do think that we no longer have the representation I grew up believing we had. I think now is the time to ask how patriotic a German citizen in 1936 may have felt, paying taxes and joining the military to serve his country.

I agree with your Lakota friends in their assessment of white culture. I think by paying taxes now, we are simply paying taxes to the Wakiku God.

I have no problem with paying taxes for healthcare, roads, housing assistance, etc. I really, really have a tough time paying taxes to bomb innocent people in countries for our own economic advantage. Considering that we apparently have made no progress in actually properly providing healthcare, or maintaining or infrastructure, or teaching our youth, and this despite the overwhelming desire of our populace to do such things, tells me something is wrong. The fact that we've made incredible progress in bombing babies in other countries tells me something is really wrong! Of all the things we agree on, we agree we shouldn't just haphazardly bomb kids and families in other countries. But that seems to be what we are best at.

Topping it off, Liberals now are saying we have to vote for the candidate who has over and over again proven herself corrupt, and who defined her career as a Secretary of State with the toppling of Libya, which at the time had one of the highest standards of living of any African country. O yeah, she also is desperately trying to get into Syria, and a quick search of her emails on Wikileaks will show why. She's wanted to since 2001- in order to destabilize Iran and strengthen Israels regional position. O, and she also denies Palestinian attempts at statehood.

Wonderful liberal candidate. I am having an easier time departing from the democratic party now though, and even the label of "liberal", which have both seemed to equate themselves with normalizing world atrocities.

That's a tangent from paying taxes, but literally, how I am having an increasingly difficult time paying taxes which go to depleted uranium rounds to salt the earth of Libya, Yemen, Sudan, Iraq, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Palestine, Syria, etc. -

Can anyone relate to that?

Re: “Bible approved for AFB desk

No where do I see Christians pushing people to learn about the gospel are making you listen to it. We give out tracks and invite people to church, we don't make you do anything. It's up to you, if you want to learn about Jesus and God. We don't hold anything against you, we just pray for you. I own a business and there are 9 Bibles at eye level in my office, never had a complete and one or two might be open.

Re: “Bible approved for AFB desk

One other thing - while I appreciate your sentiment when you thank me for my service, the extreme efficiency and effectiveness of my artillery unit's performance in the first trial run for the Vietnamese Army allowed Nixon to perpetrate his ruse and caused the war to grind on, costing 20000 more American lives than it needed to. I can back this up with direct quotes from the Nixon tapes and information gleaned from MACV after action report that have been unclassified. You can thank me by not voting nitwits into office at the local, state and national level so we don't find ourselves in this fix again. Unfortunately my war was not taught in schools sufficiently well enough for people to be able to see thru the ruse that the Cheney/Bush/Rumsfeld cabal set for us, and we're still in a hell of a mess. Speaking of hell, that's where you find it - on the battlefield.

Re: “Bible approved for AFB desk

Do not assume that God is not in my life. Know this - I accept responsibility for all of my actions and do not need the prayers or preachings of men to guide me. I reject the role of organized religion in society because of its historical evils - no one man can create a religion that controls others.

It sounds like you are worried about my eternal soul - don't. I am comfortable in my own life and skin and do not worry about heaven or hell. Einstein wondered why we spent so much time worrying about what would happen to us after we die when we should be working to make things better for everyone around us while we live. Makes good sense to me.

You are entitled to feel and believe how you choose - that's the beauty of our Constitution and why I would defend it against all enemies, domestic or foreign, to this day. I choose to believe nothing, challenge everything and live each day for the betterment of humanity. That I have no formal 'religion' does not matter to me in the least. Don't waste your time with a heartache over me...instead, find a secular way to bring all men together to solve the huge problems that face us and our progeny. In my life I have learned that belief is the most dangerous state of mind you can entertain - it walls you off from everything except that which you believe. Malcom X once said that a man who believes in nothing will fall for anything. I disagree. A man who believes in nothing will take the time to check things out...

Re: “Bible approved for AFB desk

Dear vietnamized, Thank you for your service to our country! My heart breaks for you having to go through that in your life. My heart also breaks that due to the words of one pastor, that you have turned your back on God. All men are human, but not all men are humane. All men are created by God but not all men are the sons of God, and I hope that you can see the difference some day. Please do not condemn yourself to future, eternal, torment by keeping a hard heart against God, for the mistakes of men. You are worth something. God thought so when he took his innocent, sinless son, and sacrificed him for you and the rest of us on the cross to pay our sin debt so you can have eternal life if you so chose to accept it. I cannot imagine the horror that you have been through, or are going through. I can tell you that if you read this bible, and see for yourself who God is, you will see the difference between him and all of us. If you can read it all, and hold your hate at bay while doing so, then you will see that although God gives us free will and at times we mess everything up, he is also the life giving, loving father that will give you peace. Real peace. Please see for yourself. You have suffered enough haven't you? May the one true God bless you sir! Thanks again from dad96. Many thanks also for all of our vietnam vets, who were sacrificed for nothing, whether that were able to come back to us alive, or not. There are real scars imposed on our living vietnam heroes as well. Let's not forget that. Thanks be to the families of our precious vets as well. There has been so much needless pain caused by so many things involving that war. My simple words cannot even scratch the surface I'm sure. Peace to all!

Re: “Bible approved for AFB desk

Although there may be similarities from one book to another, there is only ONE truth, thus one true book. Why I say this is there are also real differences. If there is real truth, ABSOLUTE truth which there is, then there can only be one true word of God which the bible claims to be. I am not going through all of the things that I believe to be false within the other religions, but I will say this... Jesus was beaten and died for our sins, past, present and future and on the third day after that he was raised from the dead and is in heaven as we sit here and talk. He did this for us, people who hated him then, now and in the future. He died for you if you so choose to accept it. It is not about religion, which anyone can distort, and turn into something bad. There have been terrible things done in the past in the name of Christianity, but those things are exactly NOT what Christianity is, or should be. This is about truth. This is about a LOVING God who deserves our love and respect. I am as far from perfect as anyone, but thanks be to the one true God who has forgiven me, and paid the ultimate price for me so that I can live one day with him. I am not trying to beat anyone over the head, just trying to let folks know that the bible is not the "hard faced rule book" that everyone thinks of. It is a loving guide book written by God ordained and God inspired men, to help people know the truth. I pray that you can see it some day. Please do not rate the bible on my, or others imperfections, as we are human like everyone else. Read the whole book and see for yourself. I will probably never be able to do it the justice that it deserves. Take care.
