Re: “Addressing poverty on the Springs' Southeast side

Great thanks to Patience for turning attention to these issues, and most importantly, giving us a way to help right now. I agree with KB Girl above, too many residents of COS drive around not just statistical blights-- but people-- they don't want to see. I am so excited to see Denverworks in our community, helping these young men and women succeed. I hope to see more articles like this in the Indy, and more updates from Food Rescue too, addressing the needs of the SE side, and advancing locally derived solutions.

Re: “Addressing poverty on the Springs' Southeast side

As a mother of two young African American boys, I relate strongly with this writer. I agree, the responsibility falls upon all of us to raise up Colorado Springs' children in a collectively healthy and socially responsible city. Any city "eye sores" or statistical blights must be owned by every resident, whether north, east, south or west (yes you can join the effort too OCC and Manitou folks!) We are far too comfortable driving around the southeast side of town and turning a blind eye to our black boys who need us all to expect greatness from them. Thank you Patience for drawing attention to our city's Diversity & diverse needs!

Re: “Trinity Brewing insults Colorado Springs, social-media responds with fury

Jason Yester lacks a moral compass. I have personally seen how he treats his staff and patrons and I am shocked when I see bodies in there at all anymore. Over priced food, comments to you as a customer if you order "too many guest taps" and not the "owners brews", and I personally watched him pay employees below minimum wage and verbally degrade them while he sits for 8-12 hrs, at his bar drinking with an increasingly foolish looking stupor that intensifies with each beer he guzzles down; and smelling as if he had not showered in days. I'm all for living you're own life, but I prefer not to smell the body odor of a business owner when I frequent their business to consume food. Personally and professionally, Jason Yester appears to believe he is superior to those he interacts with. My choice to stop supporting Trinity with my money and my patronage may not close his doors today, but I will be glad when he relocates to Denver. I have never seen such lack of moral and ethical values in a "supposed" grass roots, locally owned business...or its owner.

Re: “More on mPACT, the local federal action coalition

I'd be suspicious of mPact because Sally Clark is a member and as a BoCC member she is helping give them money. So couldn't she explain what they do or are they tied to springs forward or some other GOP lobby group?

Actually, I rather like the idea of bringing the grizzlies back.

Re: “Middle school can be cheesy

Oh, this story made me burst into tears (don't know why am I so sensitive))
Unfortunately, I cannot state, that any of my school teachers enjoyed learning others like you. That's why maybe I started supporting a bit essay writing services, and write reviews on them in my http://essaygoddess.com/">blog.

Re: “Richard Skorman's unfinished story

I really don't see this as Mr Skorman seeking a "fitting ending" to his story. After all, he is only 64! I see him as a dynamic man with a truly inclusive vision for our community. Wish I lived in District 3.

Re: “Alternative newsweeklies join to investigate Trump/Pence regime

So, did the Clinton or Obama administrations deny the press access to the White House? No.

Was this ever done under the Bush administration? Again, no.

So what we have here is simply Mr. Tannim's personal bias trying in vain to pass for logic. Then again you do not need to adhere to any journalistic standards at all, do you, Mr. Tannim?

Re: “Colorado Springs Council votes 6-3 to ask voters for excess money

Staci has been taking these polls for years now and really no one knows what the heck the info does or who uses it. Even the web page is elusive about the whole thing.
