Re: “At Springs rally, proud 'deplorables' confident in their losing candidate's prospects

goobers that can only spout discredited and debunked BS. sorry, trump gave them the courage to come out from beneath their rocks due to his racism, xenophobic, homophobic tendencies, and lack of respect for women. they need to crawl back to where they came from, they are not wanted in decent society of the 2000's. we will never go back to "those days".

Re: “Patients demand a voice in city policymaking; judge strikes down doc referral rule

Well said, T.Rump - I just experienced something of the sort in the industrial hemp arena - the FDA, DEA (still pissed at Jared Polis' hemp flag flying over the US Capitol building) and the USDA have declared that cannabidiol from industrial hemp cannot be used in edibles because it's an adulterant. It's the same cannabidiol that is extracted from the Charlotte's Web low THC marijuana, but CW Pharmaceuticals (CW = Charlotte's Web) is still using it in their products.

The CDPHE has always been 'business friendly', and this is no exception. Granted the MMJ and Rec business has been a boon for Colorado revenue coffers, but producing cannabidiol from hemp is far less expensive (licensing and cultivation issues both) than producing CBD from high THC marijuana. Characteristically, high THC marijuana is also low in CBD. CBD from hemp would virtually cancel the economic value of that compound in the MMJ/rec industry.

This growing season saw the entry into the industrial hemp CBD market of some substantial investments, only to have them put on hold by the back room machinations of the CDPHE, DEA, FDA and USDA. "Not enough research on industrial hemp" they say. Bull plop.

Colorado Springs is just being true to its lily white anglo-saxon protestant roots in attempting ban anything that has the appearance of being either fun on good for you.

Re: “Few local GOP faithful are willing to say whether they support Trump

Actually, hippy helper, I was trying to shore up your position. As for self-aggrandizing and narcissistic, I was clarifying who I am and what my experience level is. How about you?

Joel, is that gender snark all you've got? No wonder you got your butt kicked in the mayoral election. Loud and clear, the people's voice was heard! Your views and support of Trump indicate (at least to me) that you are not satisfied with the way things are, but your experience as an elected official produced what changes for the better. I'm unfamiliar with your record - please enlighten me. To take a page from Trump's playbook, how come you didn't get things changed while you were in office? Did the big, bad good ol' boys network shut you down? Or did your ideas get rejected by your constituents?

Re: “2016 Indy endorsements cheat sheet

Cs Indy, obviously backing special interest with their nominations. People, please do your own research, if 71 passes we are are screwed as citizens. Colorado care REPLACES YOUR TAXED EARNINGS IN YOUR PAYCHECKS. They act like its a huge raise, but they don't offer calculations for fiscal savings on paychecks without medical coming out of then, only how much taxes are raised. And I am tired of getting pushed aside medically, with doctors refusing to do the tests to actually figure out what's wrong with me because of my insurance.

Re: “Patients demand a voice in city policymaking; judge strikes down doc referral rule

The task force on Medical Marijuana was rigged from the beginning. It was designed to eliminate the MMJ industry in Colorado Springs. 75% of the panel is anti MMJ. Rigged panel and a complete failure! Did not even address the reason it was formed.
In April hopefully we can vote out from council these complete failures: Bagley, Pico, King and Knight.

Every year medical grants are disbursed by the government to the states, counties, local government, and nonprofits for free medical checks, improved healthcare and funding for the disadvantaged families. Let’s have a look at this year’s new medical grants

I do not know the political leanings of Attila the Hun, but I have heard that Steve Bannon calls himself a "Leninist" and I do know that Lenin was a staunch communist.

Re: “Briarhurst Manor Estate

My husband and I recently got married at The Briarhurst Manor and all I can say is WOW!!! We are speechless. We found this venue over the internet. The reviews were pretty good and so much was included so we booked it without seeing it. We live in Florida so when we had a chance we came out to do cake tasting and so on and omg this place is beautiful. The food is to die for. We eneded up having our rehearsal dinner here also in the Palmer Room!!! The price is so reasonable... Not even fair actually compaired to the service and food. There were even deer hanging around during the wedding. Our planner Allison.... Im really not sure there are words to describe how amazing she was. I still tear up thinking about her and everytime i turned around, she was always there to make sure my family and our guests were happy. We were so nervous and Allison just made it happen. Our wedding was so intimate, and beautiful. We truly couldn't have dreamed of a better wedding. Allison felt like part of the family. She def. Outdid herself. I would reccommend Allison and the Briarhurst Manor ten times over. The staff was also so attentive and amazing, even patient when dealing with drunkin guests. We cant thank you enough. From the bottom of our hearts, Thank you. We cant wait to come back for our anniversary every year. This is the nost beautiful venue with amazing people👍😊

Re: “Few local GOP faithful are willing to say whether they support Trump

Those of us voting for Trump understand why choosing HIM over HER is better for America. Those of us voting for Trump are outraged by HER ACTIONS - past and present. Those of us voting for Trump know what SHE will do as president, while Trump, for all his big-mouthed blundering, magnified by a HER-loving media, is a bit of an unknown.

BTW, commenting on the Indy forum is a privilege, one that imposes on us an obligation to be civil to our fellow bloggers. And those of us who blog under a "pseudo" name are doubly honor bound to avoid attacking the person who expresses an opinion different from ours. Just sayin', folks.

Re: “Few local GOP faithful are willing to say whether they support Trump

Mr. Vietnam, thank you for the vote of confidence. I hadn't considered running again, but your post is making me reconsider. Steve Bannon and Breitbart News are the only ones not in the tank with the corruption of big media. How much evidence do you need? Show me what is baseless. It's all based on pretty well-documented evidence. Is it baseless because your friends on MSNBC said it was?

FYI, I'm actually not a brownshirt, I just bought a Breitbart T-shirt! Furthermore, Attila the Hun's political leanings are far more reflective of the left. Good afternoon, sir, ma'am, whatever you are.

Re: “Few local GOP faithful are willing to say whether they support Trump

The Clinton's beat the Democratic establishment back in the 90's and no one saw it coming or could stop them. The GOP joined in and has done everything in their power to discredit the Clinton's for decades.
The Clinton's are made of greasy steel. Nothing sticks and nothing knocks them down. They are powerful and now rich too. I can understand the hate of them. If you are not also impressed, you're not really looking.

Trump is an adolescent. He was born one step from home, still managed to get thrown out, strike out next and be placed on third again before he had any success. He has zero impulse control and no ability to engage in a rational conversation. He hates everyone.

If you actually think Trump would be better than your drunk uncle or cousin, you are wrong. He would probably be worse.

Re: “Peterson AFB launches commander investigation into religious display

Sometime in the recent past the definition of belief changed. It used to mean acceptance of statements that could not be proven. That has been softened by the cacophony of disagreement from 'believers'. Dad96, you can preach all you want to, but keep it out of my life, my military, my government. It's your business, not mine. Your religion has warts and blemishes like all others - you choose to ignore them. You are in a 'state of bliss' obviously, so nothing anyone can say will change that. I sincerely hope you live your life as you preach - but I get the feeling that you have limitations regarding people who are not like you. If there is a god - and I don't subscribe to that philosophy, then why would he want his creations to choose what religion they would be? Are we not all created equal under his eyes?

Re: “Anti-marijuana Suthers, Trump supporters, KRCC changes, and more

Carolyn, you have it exactly right. Colorado Springs has been the focus (pun intended) of the religious right for years. When a middle schooler can stand up in a public school waving a Bible and say that it is the only book he needs it smacks of propagandistic indoctrination at the most insidious level. The religious right spent years trying to compromise the Constitutional edict of separation of church and state by compromising the Air Force Academy. Thankfully, they have failed, but not before doing some significant damage within the ranks of the Air Force. It's a shame.

My father, a career Air Force fighter pilot, said that he felt the military, especially career military, should NOT be allowed to vote. His reasoning was that the military would vote for more wars and more military/industrial complex - job security, so to speak. I disagreed with him at the time, but then the Air Force general (who now supports Trump) said that the war in Iraq (started on false pretenses from the Bush/Cheney/Rumsfeld cabal) was the new "Crusade" and intimated it was the beginning of a religious war. We don't need his vote in our democracy, nor do we need the votes of anyone like him.

Just a reminder - T.Rump will only accept the results of the election "If I win". Very dangerous.

Tannim, you sound more and more like a 'sovereign citizen'...I'm still identifying as an American.

Janet, I support your right to choose how you die. All other opinions are based on mythology.

Re: “Few local GOP faithful are willing to say whether they support Trump

hippyhelper, all I made was an observation based on experience - and I said I would be surprised if he didn't test positive. My observations were of a runny nose, of someone trying to clear something from his soft palate area without success, his inability to be calm and still, his lack of control over his impulsive remarks and facial expressions and his dry mouth syndrome, again exhibited last night. I did at no time say that Donald Trump was using cocaine - what I said was that he had the appearance of using cocaine. And I wanted a drug test for both of them.

Spare me the kick back of my own words if you didn't understand them in the first place.

Trump has gotten where he's gotten by insidious innuendo without much in the way of facts to back them up.

Joel, I had a bit of respect for you until that rant. Baseless BS. If you're waiting for judgement day I feel sorry for you - apparently your "life's work" has been to crow abut the wonders of TABOR. Say howdy to Grover Norquist for me. This election is going to be a complete rout. You can vote for that phony if you want to, and you can continue to spout anti-Hillary garbage, but I see you as a subscriber to the new T.Rump TV channel, and marching right along with the rest of the Steve Bannon brownshirts dragging our democracy down. I guess it's to be expected in 'somewhere to the right of Attila the Hun' Colorado Springs. I would be more than happy to reveal myself to you, but that negates the purpose of this venue. I have no desire to run for office, and judging from your experience you probably won't be doing so again, either.

If you admire this man, if you support his specious claims about making America great again by returning to trickle down economics (didn't work the first time, won't work this time), tax breaks for the rich and driving our international bus into the ditch again after we just barely got some traction after the Bush/Cheney disaster, then by all means enthusiastically support him...and question our democratic method of choosing leaders and the time-honored, democratic tradition of accepting the results of the fairest election system in the world. If you support him you undermine our system and have no business in public office ever again.

Your opponent has done much to cross party lines and to actually get needed bills past to help Colorado farmers and such, but your GOP fellows in Congress are the ones not to do anything, so your ad is basically blasting your own party, dude. LMAO!!!

Re: “UPDATE: ATTN: Cyclists. Tell the city you want these bike lanes.

If drivers and cyclists alike would obey the traffic laws, this discussion would be unnecessary. Whether it's motorists who speed and tailgate, or try to turn while talking on the phone, or cyclists who are all over the road, the real problem is people who think the rules do not apply to them. Research Parkway is one of many examples -- try driving W. Woodman Road at rush hour between these two competing forces. You arrive relieved to be alive.

Re: “UPDATE: ATTN: Cyclists. Tell the city you want these bike lanes.

Colorado is a bike friendly state where we have minimum clearance laws and miles of dedicated bike trails. 6 lanes on Research serves the interests of cyclists and cars alike. The speeding issue will be solved if our city saw fit to time traffic lights to reduce the number of stops (while increasing fuel effeincicy). Give us back our 6 lanes... refocus on street repairs and launch an effort to get I-25 up to 6 lanes between Colorado's two largest cities.
