Admiring the legacy of Maya Angelou

Author and poet Maya Angelou once said: “I’ve learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel.” And while few have forgotten Angelou’s words, immortalized forever in her groundbreaking 1969 memoir I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings and other works, Friday presents an excellent opportunity to remind yourself how this author makes you feel. Join scholar and actor Becky Stone as she takes the stage portraying Angelou herself, and learn about Angelou’s life and writing. It should be just the inspiration you need to consider Angelou’s admirable legacy.
