No guns at CSU

Posted By on Fri, Dec 4, 2009 at 12:41 PM

In a move certain to inflame the pro-gun crowd, Colorado State University's board of governors has voted unanimously today (Friday) to prohibit any concealed weapons on its Fort Collins and Pueblo campuses.

CSU's two branches have allowed concealed weapons with a legal permit, but not in dormitories. However, the University of Colorado system and almost all college campuses in the country prohibit guns in any form. According to a Denver Post story, Utah is the only other state with campuses that allow guns.

The action by CSU will not take effect yet. That won't happen until the presidents at each campus produce their own regulations.

CSU's student government actually opposed the board of governors taking such action. It's hard to imagine why.
