James Balog coming to Colorado Springs

UPDATE: Feb. 23, 1 p.m.: James Balog's speaking engagement will take place at Coronado High School (1590 W. Fillmore St.) in the auditorium.

The event will still take place on Thursday, March 4 at 7 p.m. It is also still free and open to the public.

Balog will show a presentation on the Extreme Ice Survey and offer a Q&A session.


World-renowned photographer and activist James Balog will speak in Colorado Springs Thurs., March 4 from 7-8 p.m. at the Community Partnership for Child Development (2330 Robinson St.).

The free talk will cover Balog's recent project, the Extreme Ice Survey, which combines both art and science to chart melting glaciers worldwide. Some of his still shots from the survey are now on display at the Smokebrush Gallery. The Indy covered Balog in a cover story Jan. 28.
