Warehouse art show canceled

Posted By on Tue, Apr 6, 2010 at 11:24 AM

From the Listings desk: The upcoming ceramics exhibit at the Warehouse Restaurant and Gallery, slated to open this Wednesday, has been canceled, with no current rescheduled time or location. Fahrenheit 2010: Established Regional Ceramists was to have been a tribute to two previous shows curated by the late Gerry Riggs, both of which highlighted local potters and ceramics artists.

According to show curator Holly Parker, the restaurant's gallery space, which is also used for events, was booked heavily for the month with other parties and "would require the moving of ceramics and pedestals. So, understandably, the artists weren't all that comfortable with that arrangement. I am working to help them find another location that is more appropriate."

If you need a backup plan for Wednesday, we suggest the City Dionysia poetry slam followed by the Cuong Vu concert at the Colorado Springs Fine Arts Center. The slam starts at 6, and Vu, a Grammy-winning jazz trumpeter, will perform at 8. Tickets are $5 to $7.
