We've got more weekend events

From the listings desk, we know, you've already read this week's Indy cover to cover and you're hungry for more ... listings, that is. Well, here are some weekend events that didn't make it into this week's paper (deadlines, friends, deadlines...)

• Opening today, Totally Show at Rubbish Gallery (17B E. Bijou St.), featuring works by Aaron North, Heather Leech, Molly Harris and Garrett Dawson. The opening reception kicks off at 5:30 p.m. with live music by Ayla and the Broken Spoke (or come around Saturday night for Arborea, the Changing Colors and Wolfberry).

• Saturday, head up to the Ute Pass Cultural Center (210 E. Midland Ave., Woodland Park) at 6 p.m. for Yobel Market's Second annual Soup for Africa benefit. Yobel is a local fair trade organization that works with people in developing countries sell handicrafts. The benefit will raise money for refugees in Northern Uganda. Expect live music, gourmet soups and a live auction. Tickets are $10-$16. For more on Yobel, visit

• And lastly, on Sunday, if you're still in a getting-involved mood, attend the Substance Abuse Town Hall meeting at 3 p.m. at Manitou Springs Town Hall (606 Manitou Ave.). Participate in the panel discussion (former NFL player out of Manitou Justin Armour will be in attendance) and stay to get information on positive organizations like Concrete Couch, Peace Jam, TESSA and others.
