Pools now officially under contract

You've heard it before, but now its official: Colorado Springs Swim School will manage the city's Wilson Ranch, Portal Pool and the Aquatic and Fitness Center.

The city will continue the operations of Cottonwood Creek Recreation Center and pool. Monument Valley and Valley Hi pools, as well as the beach/swim area at Prospect Lake are closed this year.

The Swim School provides swim lessons, competitive swim teams (in partnership with the Colorado Springs Swim Team), aquatic fitness, adaptive aquatics, lifeguard training, CPR training, first aid training and "GuardStart".

The company will provide free and reduced cost swim lessons to qualifying families with financial hardship.

The Swim School is planning a number of events including:

Plant a Tree...Swim for Free
Provide community with one (1) free swim pass or 10% off one session of group
swim lessons for every Colorado Blue Spruce Tree purchased.

Free Learn-to-Swim Day
Introduce parents and children to CSSS swim lessons curriculum
with goal of reducing drowning rates.

Police, Firefighters and Teachers Days
CSSS will offer significant discounts to those in our community
who keep us safe and educate our children.

Military Appreciation Day
CSSS will offer significant discounts to those in the
community who serve our country.
