Music Monday: ‘Pulp Fiction’ producers buy rights to ‘Paul Is Undead’

Seems like the only folks who aren’t making money off the staggeringly successful zombie trend are Colin Blunstone and Rod Argent of the ‘60s British Invasion band, the Zombies.

What began with Shaun of the Dead and World War Z has now mutated into such mind-blowing mashups as Pride and Prejudice and Zombies and Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter.

So it should come as no surprise that the Beatles, two of whom are still alive, are the latest to undergo this trendiest of transmogrifications.

In fact, the comparatively fast-moving producers of Pulp Fiction have already bought the film rights to Paul Is Undead, an illustrated novel by Alan Goldsher that doesn’t hit bookstore shelves until next month.

In the book, the Fab Four are all zombified with the exception of Ringo, who’s a Ninja. It also features Mick Jagger as a zombie-hunter who loves the Beatles but despises zombies.

The BBC recently did an interview with Goldsher about all this, and you can hear it here:
