Update, 11:49 a.m.: Representative Mark Waller has recommended a vote, saying he would be happy with a county ban (see our conversation with Waller here). District Attorney Dan May has also recommended a vote, and if no ban is forthcoming, would like to see a tax increase on the medication, according to Garduno.

At 9 a.m., the Board of El Paso County Commissioners began meeting to consider land use regulations regarding medical marijuana.

Later this morning, we received this text message from Tanya Garduno, president of the Colorado Springs Medical Cannabis Council:

[Representative] Bob Gardner just recommended the county ban all dispensaries, and put them in the neighborhoods as caregivers. He is opting for no local control.

We'll update this blog with more as it comes.
