Christo coming to the FAC

Posted By on Fri, Jul 16, 2010 at 2:28 PM

Just on the heels of the release of the environmental impact of the "Over the River" project, world-renowned artist Christo will speak on the piece at the Colorado Springs Fine Arts Center on July 28 (read the full release from the FAC here).

Christo and his late wife and partner Jeanne-Claude started campaigning for "Over the River" in 1992, planning an outdoor installation that involves draping 5.9 miles of the Arkansas River near Salida with fabric. The canopy will be several meters off the surface of the water, and held by a series of poles and frames.
