Marketing, of the new/vintage/homemade-item type

This past weekend I trekked up to Denver for the final weekend of Paris Street Market.

My friends and I also dropped by the new Horseshoe Craft & Flea Market, which I had learned about down here from a vendor at the "Gypsy Bazaar" at Eve's Revolution last month.

These open-air events remind me of the markets found all over France, in Paris and the small towns. They're filled with booths offering new, handmade and resale wares such as clothing, scarves and hats; original art; vintage household items; jewelry and more. I like to call them Etsy LIVE.

Even the topic that seems to be following me around lately, steampunk (see my recent print piece here), popped up in a few places, most notably via a Denver-based vendor at Horseshoe by the name of The Gold Bug. My techie husband fell in love with these ultra-cool steampunk cuff links.

The "market" market is expanding quickly up north, and I'm wondering why it hasn't hit the Springs yet. Eve's anniversary event is the closest thing we've had (as far as I know, at least), and it maxed at about 10 sellers.

I'm sure I'm not the only one dreaming of shopping options down here. Anyone out there planning and plotting for 2011? If so, I'd love to hear about it.
