Some brief food notes ahead of the weekend:
• Extraordinary Ingredients celebrates its first anniversary from 11:30 to 1 p.m. on Nov. 20 with the chefs from the Margarita at PineCreek doing a free demo and tasting.
• The Prisoner has long remained one of my favorite wines. If you've never tried it, or are excited to try the newly released 2009 vintage, here's your chance:
• Earlier this week, Denver's Westword reported on Rock Bottom Brewing's recent merger with Gordon Biersch into a new conglomerate called Craftworks Restaurants & Breweries.
• And speaking of Rock Bottom, cheers for this Bible study's name and concept: What Would Jesus Brew? Attendees apparently receive one free beer, on the brewery — next meeting is Dec. 5.
