The BiblioFile: Signings, a workshop and a sale

A few book-related events have hit my radar that I wanted to pass on to y'all.


First, the second installment of Colorado author Carol Berg's Collegia Magica series, The Soul Mirror, released Jan. 4, and she'll be doing a booksigning here at the three-day COSine Sci-Fi fest at the Crowne Plaza (2886 S. Circle Drive, It happens from Jan. 21 to 23, and will attract following other sci-fi/fantasy authors:

Berg will also be at the Briargate Barnes & Noble (1565 Briargate Blvd., at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 5.

Second, Pikes Peak Writers will be hosting a free Write Brain session at 6:30 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 18 at Panera Bread (7344 N. Academy Blvd.).

The workshop, titled "How to Make Dialogue 'Talk' to Your Audience," will be facilitated by published author Laura Hayden, who currently lives in Alabama, but spent many years here writing and running the Pikes Peak Writers Conference (for which registration opens Saturday, Jan. 15).

Third, and finally for today, mark your calendar for the Pikes Peak Library District's Winter Book Sale at the East Library (5550 N. Union Blvd.).


The event takes place Friday, Jan. 28 (for members only) from 4 to 7 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 29 from 9 to 5, and Sunday, Jan. 30 — the day of the extra-amazing $5 bag sale — from 11 to 3.
