UPDATE: Geeks battle it out this weekend

If you enjoyed Rich Tosches' feature on UFO Phil in last week's paper — so much so that you'd care to meet UFO Phil in person — you'll be glad to know that he'll be the celebrity quizmaster for Geeks Who Drink tomorrow night at McCabe's Tavern.

According to administrative Geek Josh Johnson, "word is, aliens might come."

Oh ... as for the Geek Bowl results ... two Denver teams took first and second place, with a Philly team taking third.

Good luck to Colorado Springs teams competing in this weekend's Geek Bowl V at Denver's Fillmore Auditorium.


Our one-time Indy-staffer/freelancer Josh Johnson now works as one of four full-time Geeks Who Drink employees, overseeing 120 quizzes around the country, and he says that this year's bowl will be the largest live quiz in U.S. history.

As such, Johnson points to some early trash talking. Here's a Colorado-bashing clip from a Philly quizmaster:
