Blink Generation: Introducing the Malcolm Gladwell Book Generator

Posted By on Wed, Feb 9, 2011 at 5:56 PM

We've all heard the old adage, "Everyone has a book inside them, and that's where it should stay." But in the case of Malcolm Gladwell, we're obviously well past the tipping point.

A New Yorker writer who started his journalism career at the ultra-conservative American Spectator, Gladwell has since cemented his position as America's favorite armchair theorist, thanks to best-selling books like Blink and Outliers."

In fact, we've now reaching a post-human crossroad where, even if the author were to expire tomorrow, his creative output might well be replicated in perpetuity. And the first stage in that evolution is the altogether revolutionary Malcolm Gladwell Book Generator.

This new utility enables users to generate a seemingly (but not yet) endless series of potential Gladwell sequels, including Slurp: What Kittens' Tongues Teach Us About Derivatives and Subtitles: How Secondary Titles Inflate a Sense of Importance. All feature the immediately recognizable minimalist design and tasteful typography that's become an integral part of the Gladwell Brand.

For all of this, we can thank one Cory Bortinicker, a writer and producer who won an Emmy for Minyanville's World in Review with Hoofy and Boo — hey, it's not ME making this stuff up — a weekly Fox Business Network series in which computer-generated funny animals explain the ins and out of Wall Street bulls and bears.

It's all very ironic and droll, and you can try it yourself by clicking here.
