Got an extra $10? Want to support a great film project?

Have you heard of Kickstarter? It's a way for individuals to raise funding support from other individuals for all sorts of creative projects.

Former Indy reporter Michael De Yoanna has a Kickstarter project up right now — in fact, he's got just one more day to raise his goal, or the project won't happen.

Michael's proposed project, a film called The Winding Road to Recovery, will be a documentary that "not only highlights the struggle of wounded warriors coming home from brutal wars, it will show that with every crank of their pedals they are deeply human and alive, not just surviving, but thriving."

According to Michael:

My objective with the target amount is to cover a [bike] ride that starts at Arlington Cemetery on Memorial Day and to follow two riders home afterwards to further delve into their stories. Additional funds beyond my target amount would allow a crew to cover more location shoots, events and interviews of veterans, experts, and family members.

You can make a donation as small as $1. At the $10 level, your donation includes your name or company name listed on the film's website. And as your donation amount gets higher, the "perks" get greater. If you choose, your donation can be given in the name of a fallen soldier or Marine. What a great way to recognize someone you love, especially with Memorial Day right around the corner.

Oh, and your donation is actually just a pledge. If Michael doesn't hit his target amount of $9,100, you don't have to pay. Of course, that's not going to happen, ’cause you all out there are going to help him gather the remaining $1,273. Right?
