Art vs. Louis Vuitton

Earlier this year, Louis Vuitton sued artist Nadia Plesner over one of her paintings, which depicted a child in Darfur holding a designer purse that looked like theirs. Vuitton had sued Plesner before for a similar charge, and won. But now, European courts have ruled in favor of Plesner's freedom of expression, and that that "outweighs the importance of Vuitton (protection of property)."

This story, which came from Techdirt., says that Vuitton will now have to pay Plesner's legal fees.
