Some tidbits from the inbox this week:

• This Saturday, the Ballentines and Gallup House Fine Art sale will take place from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at 2050 S. Saint Paul St., Denver. This clearing-house sale features some really fantastic art for as little as $5, and nothing over $1,000 (that includes prints, paintings, frames, sculptures and drawings.) For more, call 303/756-5222 or e-mail

Christo will be speaking at next week's Vail Symposium, covering past artworks as well as his plans for "Over the River" (which still hangs on the yay or nay from the Bureau of Land Management). Tickets for the general lecture are sold out, but if you have $250 to spare, you can attend the lecture and a private benefit reception with Christo. Call 970/476-0954 or visit for more.
